That’s all it ever does. I have the Orbi WiFi throughout my house and it will choose the best frequency per device....however some of my speakers only connect to 2.4g while the other ones are placed on 5g. Bose refused to address this issue. As expensive as their products are. They will not help. They expect me to buy all new speakers. Every speaker in my house and truck are Bose. So disappointed. They are way behind in technology. I hope your speakers doesn’t become lost on THEIR network because THEIR speakers can’t remember where to connect, you will get to run through a long drawn out process which includes resetting WiFi and setting up the speaker all over again. I DO THIS 3 to 4 times a week. I’ve stopped expecting them to play when I want to hear music. Bose has dropped the ball. Think twice. Coming from a guy who pushed their product for sound quality for years, it’s sad to say that their app and “connectabily” are horrible!! They will not even play your Apple Music playlist so I hope you don’t subscribe because any music or playlist you’ve downloaded you won’t be hearing through THEIR speakers. But if you enjoy spending a few hours a weekend on the phone with their technical team, this product is perfect for you!!!
Solved all of our problems!!
SubliminalCipher
Our problem were: trying to figure out a way to stream music in multiple rooms and have surround sound for the TV. We purchased a Bose Wave SoundTouch and a Bose SoundTouch 300. This got us exactly what we wanted and they communicate over our wireless network so setup was really easy and fast. Bose does not do a good job of making it clear that these two products can work together. It is clearly stated that the Bose Wave SoundTouch works in conjunction with the Bose SoundTouch 10, 20, and 30, but not clear about the SoundTouch 300 sound bar, bass and rear speakers. Even the very unhelpful store employees told us that these products would not work together. I did some research online while in the store and came to the conclusion that the employees were wrong. We took the chance and bought both and am glad we did. They work perfectly together. We can play music in one room, watch TV in the other, stream the same music in both rooms, or different music in both rooms. The system is very flexible like that. The app is easy to use and works great. Sound quality is what you would expect from a product bearing the Bose name. Very happy with the purchases.
Great sound - exceptionally poor app

I absolutely love my five SoundTouch speakers. I have had them for about two years. The music quality is exceptional. BUT, there are not enough foul words in the dictionary that cumulatively can describe my utter frustration with the SoundTouch app. When it works, it is great! But that is where the problem lies. Probably 80% of the time the app will not recognize one or more of the speakers. Shut down the app and try again. Different speakers are shown as available. Shut the app down again, same story. I have three devices running the app. Usually all three (iPhone and two iPads) come up with different versions of what speakers are available. So frustrating! Another issue is the app dropping connection when playing. Luckily the music continues, but control via the app is gone. I have to close the app and hope it comes back up showing the speakers that I have been playing. Bose has basically removed any mechanism to get help for the problems. I believe they are over their heads in producing an app that will work in today’s technical environment. I have been a big Bose fan over the years, but had I known about the problems with the app I would have never bought the speakers. So having invested heavily in the speakers, I will just have to put up with the shoddy app. It is sad that most people will not find out about the app’s poor performance until after they have purchased the speakers. I am puzzled by the app’s 4.7 rating. That is probably when it is working.
App needs all remote functions
Stupiddumbstupidstupidnickname
Ever have a hard time finding the remote? Think it’s no big deal because you have this app? Think again. My 2-year-old son loves all things with buttons, especially those things I tell him to stay away from. The remote that came with my Bose SoundTouch alarm clock stereo is the most enticing set of buttons for him in the entire house. I keep it out of reach in a holder on the wall, but he has recently discovered pushing a chair over will get him access to it. While I was away at work last night and he was in the care of the babysitter who didn’t know better, he launched his remote control acquisition campaign. His mission was a success. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if the stereo had buttons that managed all of its functions. It wouldn’t be a big deal if this app were able to manage all of the functions on the stereo, but stereo has only an on/off control on it, and the app does not manage all of the functions of the stereo. In playing with the remote control, my son always manages to turn on the alarms. Always. Without the remote control, THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF! Using the ONE control (on/off) that the stereo has only manages to put a snooze timer on the alarm. So this means that we continue to press snooze until we find the remote. I have now been looking for that infuriatingly tiny remote for hours now. The two-year-old has buried it well. Now, I have determined that unplugging the stereo and plugging it back in stops the alarm/snooze loop. But seriously, this is aggravating! Please add the alarm controls to this app. Please. It would change my world as it pertains to this stereo.
- Fixed bugs and did some general cleaning up under the hood.
