Started as a DIY passion project in Hackney in 2011, with the aim of supporting emerging artists and creating an alternative to stagnant mainstream radio, the platform has over 600 resident hosts: musicians, DJs artists and record collectors.

I’m experiencing issues with orientation.
The NTS app is incredible, but it does discriminate against orientation. On an iPad, you can’t get it to go into landscape mode - it simply remains in portrait mode the entire time.
That is the only problem with the app, but other than that this is one of those apps that you must get because something like this doesn’t remain 100% free for long - free from ads and free to listen. Once NTS begins charging us, I will happily become a paying subscriber because it’s that good... though.

Hey Gawnor, thanks for you feedback. Currently the iPad and iOS app share the same set of features, so it can't rotate. So far we haven't planned to separate the two apps, would you like to see a dedicated iPad version? Let us know at ios.feedback@ntslive.co.uk.
Love NTS but app crashes and stops playing music constantly
I absolutely looooove NTS radio. BUT - The app works well but it is very rare that i get through a radio show without it crashing or without the sound cutting out, which is only fixed by me closing the app, reopening it, and starting the show over. This is annoying because you have to remember the stopping point of the show when the app crashed, because it won’t let you pick up where you left off on a show when you open it back up(if that makes sense). and since this happens almost every time i use the app, it gets very annoying. I don’t have any of these issues when I listen on my computer/desktop version.
Otherwise though, NTS radio is amazing and the app works ok!
app is running better than ever
i don’t really write reviews but i had to write a review because with this most recent version all of the problems in previous versions and more have been improved. best thing! it holds your place in a podcast when you exit the app and listen to something else. it’s so good. besides i love the NTS community. the music is killer and they have great taste
