Aloe Bud is an all-in-one, self-care pocket companion. It gently brings awareness to self-care activities, using encouraging push notifications, rather than guilt or shame.

Helpful reminders from yourself, to yourself; saved within Aloe Bud so you can keep doing you!

Hydrate, Move, Breathe, Health, Break, Rest, Fuel, Refresh, People, Stimulate, Motivate

What do you need more of in your life today?

Maybe you’re trying to stay hydrated, or need reminders to get in touch with friends every so often. Check-in and reflect on yourself in real-time or as needed.

“It’s like having a best friend on your phone!”

Add activity cards to your personal dashboard, according to what you believe needs extra attention today or in the near future. Activity cards cover everything, from the mundane (such as filling up water bottles and remembering to take screen breaks) to the larger picture (journaling about personal relationships and remembering who or what you’re grateful for).

Aloe Bud sends reminders only when asked and can be set at specific times from daily to weekdays, weekends, or any other arrangement you can think of. Reminders bring awareness to important activities, that get lost among other priorities

Create and develop self-care routines that work for you. Aloe Bud brings awareness to physical, mental and emotional needs throughout the day using unobtrusive push notifications.

Celebrate tiny victories in your personal activity log, that can be accessed when you touch the icon at the top. Scroll through recently completed check in’s and reflections and look back on your progress day by day.

It’s not meant to and should not replace mental health care or the support of loved ones, but it is a valuable—and free—tool to help bridge gaps in making self-care as accessible and personal as possible.

Aloe Bud can be fully enjoyed for free, but if you would like to enhance your experience and help support our growth, we offer optional in-app purchases. It allows you to add as many self-care activities check in’s, journal and activity log entries, as well as unlimited customizable reminder schedules. News updates:

Designed out of the pure necessity of their own mental health struggles; Aloe Bud creator, Amber Discko searched the App Store for something, anything to help with basic self-care. After trying and ignoring countless self-care apps and feeling guilty for doing so, finding one that met their needs and lifestyle became frustrating. Amber believed there was no better time to start designing a gentle, all-in-one personal care app, using their own experiences, affinity for pixel art and the needs of their communities to bring this simple idea to life.

Just one thing,,,

I'm a person who gets overwhelmed very easily, but my shabby mental (and physical) health requires constant mindfulness on my behalf. A lot of self-care apps I feel offer too many uh,,, 'helpful' features.
As soon as I saw the icon for this app, I knew I wanted it (as cliche as that sounds). Retro/8bit themed apps, I've found, are usually more simplistic, and this one was pretty much everything I'd hoped it would be. It's very cute and calming so I don't feel stressed with all the things I need to do when I open it, and it's super easy to navigate. Like, too easy. I like that you have the option to either just check in on a task or to fill out an actual short journal entry for it.

Just one thing— I'm using this to also keep up with my medication. Since I'm very forgetful, I chose to fill out a prompt each day with how my meds effect me because it would be helpful for whenever I go to see my doctor. However, I'd love it if I could find all my journal entries for one task in one place? It's a little difficult to track how my meds have been effecting me when I have to scroll through the activities I've done every single day to get to each entry. Maybe create an option to view all your journal entries underneath the title of each task when you open it? That would really tie it all together and make it five stars for me.

aloe love

I’ve been waiting for this app to come out since August of 2017, and downloaded it the day it was released. since I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, I wanted to make sure that I fairly evaluated the app before giving a review. safe to say, I love it. I’m someone who really struggles with self care and keeping track of the things that I do, and this helps so much. it’s super cute, and unlike other self care apps, it works just fine without the extra features that you have to purchase (although those are amazing too). you can write things down on the go when you don’t have your journal, and look back at them later if you need to. the self set reminders to do simple self care tasks have saved my unwashed hair more times than I can count. this app is my lord and savior. 10/10 would aloe bud again.

The app of my mentally ill dreams

I love the Aloe Bud app so much. I found the mental health resources to be helpful, though I would have liked to see Dissociative Disorders and Transgender Lifeline included. The mechanics are intuitively useful, and I appreciate the interface design/aesthetic, which has noticeablely impacted my frequency and ease of use. Please continue developing this app. It’s already really great, but I’m excited for updates and improvements.

My request is an added feature, perhaps for a future update. This app would be a life changer if it came with an iPhone widget. The app is designed around reminders, which are most effectively utilized with the help of a widget. The accessibility of an added widget seems in tune with the app’s intent, especially if it were well made (some widgets exist for the sake of saying it exists).

Bottom line: must-have, hella cute
