Description

The Beltone Tinnitus Calmer™ app uses a combination of sounds and relaxing exercises that aim to distract your brain from focusing on tinnitus. Over time the brain learns to focus less on the tinnitus.

The app lets you manage your personal library of sound therapy files and allows you to create your own soundscapes from environmental sounds and small pieces of music. It will also track your usage, so you can see which sounds work best for you, and it contains some secondary stimuli like colors and exercises to help keep your mind occupied.

Just download it and listen to it as you normally listen to music from your smart phone. If you wear Beltone® wireless hearing aids, you can stream directly through them; the sound you stream will be adjusted to compensate for your hearing loss.

The app is a tool for anyone who has tinnitus. It should be used in combination with a tinnitus management programme or plan set up by a hearing care professional.

Grateful!

I rarely write reviews but I think everyone who suffers from Tinnitus should consider trying this. I stumbled on the name of this app as I researched the condition and ways to deal with it. At times the condition is truly maddening and I needed a way to manage it so I figured it was worth a try. Admittedly I have not tried any others because this app worked absolutely great! There are multiple sounds that you can listen to in order to drown out that sickening inner ear noise or you can make up a combination of them that works for you. If needed, it has a timer to shut off the sounds if you happen to need it to help you fall asleep. I truly appreciate having this app available. Since it’s on my cell phone I have it with me at all times when the surrounding noises just aren’t enough.

Preinstalled soundscapes are missing!

All the soundscapes that come preinstalled disappeared today. I had to delete and re-download the app today. All of them were there just before I delete the app. All of them were gone after I re-downloaded it. I also lost the two soundscapes that I created on my own. However, It’s the preinstalled ones that I used most of the time. I hardly ever used the two that I created. This app is useless to me without the Beltone preinstalled soundscapes. Why did Beltone remove them? Can Beltone put them back?

Developer Response ,

Hi SouldMan,

Please delete the app and reinstall the latest version (5.2.5) of Beltone Tinnitus Calmer.
If you have iCloud backup enabled, all soundscapes should have been stored there and re-populate your app after you re-install.

Best,
Beltone Tinnitus Calmer app team

Helps with the ringing...

I was caught up in a large explosion
caused by a miscalculation by the LAPD Bomb squad recently. I now suffer from ringing in my ears and this little app helps mask it better than anything the doctors have tried. I also had lots of useful tips.
It’s free too. When I finally need hearing aids I will definitely use there’s. It says a lot about a company that is willing to help with a handy little app and provide it for free. The are obviously good business people knowing that a little free service now will attract a life long loyal customer later.
