Ratings and Reviews
Disappointing
I must say I am rather disappointed with the new Candy Crush Friends Saga. I was super excited about the new game! However, I like a game that will give me a little challenge. This game is easy. Too easy. I recommend getting Candy Crush Saga. If you like a challenge. The game itself is pretty cool. For me it’s the levels, they’re just to easy. If you don’t want a challenge, than this game is probably just right for you.
After I tried the game again...
Oh my goodness! I was so wrong. I only played the first few levels, and based my previous review on that. I was then told that if I go till level 35- 40 it gets better. I find it has so many cool things to it. There are cookies that you have to get to the bottom of the screen, hearts you have to get into a box, and so many more things that even I haven’t discovered. I definitely suggest this game. You just have to get into it.
ADS
The ads in this game are starting to get ridiculous! And if you choose not to watch them at the beginning of a level, it doesn’t seem to want you to beat it and will try everything in the world to keep you from it. Also, it’s giving out things like the lollipop hammer and stuff and then almost making sure you have to use it and don’t keep it and then they bombard you with ads and stupid stuff that don’t add up to anything and the ads start taking the absolute longest 30 seconds I believe I have ever lived thru. I hate it. The ads aren’t ever anything I can relate to and most of the ads are scams. I’d hate to see what happened if you downloaded some of these bingo or slot games and actually gave them your bank info or your debit card. That kind of stuff is dangerous and I’m seriously considering deleting the app. You’re basically playing for costumes. Most of the characters don’t even help you or they send help into places where you have no chance of using it. It’s becoming too much and it isn’t worth it. I have literally made one single move and wiped the entire level now that I’m up to almost 500 and it STILL put me at having the very last highest score and gave me 2 stars. Whatever.
Edit: I took away my two stars and gave it one. If I was able to find any other game that was challenging and that I liked enough, I’d stop playing this completely. The pay walls are getting ridiculous. It won’t let you save your boosters, it won’t allow you to keep gold. I’m so over it.
In app purchases: depressing, but here to stay?
I really don’t like the trend of in-app purchases in games, but it looks like they’re here to stay. I’d much rather buy a game for a fair price than be goaded along into buying coins or fruits or whatnot constantly. I usually don’t even try a game if I see it has in-app purchases, but I somehow missed this for Candy Crush Friends. I got into playing it, but said I’d never go for the kind of in-app purchases that only let you play a little more. I got prompted several times to purchase the piggy bank once it “got full” and wouldn’t accept the gold bars needed to continue a failed game. Finally I said, “okay, I’ll buy the piggy bank, that’s a fair price to make it go away and let me accumulate gold bars from now on. I was then surprised that it didn’t make the piggy bank go away, rather it just emptied it temporarily, and the $3.99 charge will have to be paid again and again, the exact type of in-app purchase I loathe. I thought the lack of clarity of this purchase was deceptive and typical of the in-app purchase model at its worst, and it took any fun out of the game for me. I’ve deleted the app even though I just made a $3.99 purchase (in fact, BECAUSE of the $3.99 purchase), and will be much more wary of which games i try in future.
