I’ve been using both the Healbe smart band and the Oura ring for a good year now, I’ve picked up on some interesting differences between thhis two. First off, the Healbe’s feature for tracking how my body reacts to different foods is a diet - changer for me. I said no to starchy products when saw the spikes in the app which is something the Oura ring doesn’t touch on. But when it comes to sleep tracking, Oura got a few quirks, like marking me as asleep when I’m just lying wide awake.Then there’s the heart rate monitoring. Oura often shows my heart rate a bit higher, around 5 beats per minute more than the Healbe. I guess it’s because it’s on my finger, which might be a bit more reliable for this kind of thing than my wrist.But, man, Healbe really needs to sort out their update process. The last time I tried updating, it took 30 minutes and the first attempt didn’t even work. Had to run it back for a second go before the band and app decided to play nice.All in all, both gadgets are pretty solid. They’ve got their pros and cons, but I’m keeping an eye on how they evolve. Definitely some cool tech to follow.

I’ll be honest, I approached this pretty skeptically, but the calorie counts are reasonable (there are so many variables). It’s a little hard to wear for 22 hours a day (although I understand why); the only thing I’d ask for would be better battery life. That said, charging during showering generally keeps me with enough power. The hydration measurements don’t seem to correlate well with my hydration level; but this wasn’t particularly something I cared about to begin with. The sleep tracking is quite accurate.It’s important to remember that when you eat something it takes your body time to digest. The time depends on what the food is and the state your body is in (plus your personal biochemistry). You can’t check it and find out exactly how much energy you consumed in real time (your body hasn’t absorbed it yet!). Just important to keep in context for people wanting to use something like this to track calories in real time. As far as the app goes, I need to force close in order for it to update my weight from HealthKit. Not a huge deal - not sure how important knowing my weight actually is, but it will bug me after a while to update it. Seems like there just needs to be a fetch to HealthKit on open of the app (I have it enabled and authorized).

I have been using my GoBe device for over six years. The thing I like most about it is that it measures my caloric intake that is specific to my body. No other device does this. In stopped using this device for a few months and had to rely on the calorie count from products which mat or may not be suited to my body needs. My husband bought me a new GoBe for Christmas as he knew how much I missed my device that was long overdue to be replaced. Looking forward to the update that will need coming out in a free months as I am excited over some of the new features it will have. Customer service is great for this company as they always put the customer's needs first. In truly recommend the Healbe GoBe device and have bragged to many of my acquaintances about it.
