I was close but no cigar on the Oregon Bar Exam in 2021. I got back on the bar exam study grind in the fall of 2022. I put in about 30 hours of bar prep outside of my full-time job each week until I took my retake in July of 2023 (I knew I would need more time than the 2.5 months after law school graduation, back in 2021). I passed the Oregon Bar Exam on my second attempt. Quimbee’s greatest strength is its balance between streamlining the volume of content into the most essential pieces of information, while also covering the most commonly tested areas for each subject to a level that allows a motivated student to get through daily assignments and build confidence (it’s definitely important to walk into the exam room confident on the two test days). I really liked primarily using Quimbee’s comprehensive review during the 10-month preparation grind for my retake. Quimbee has the most succinct black letter law outlines I have ever seen. I also really got a lot out of Quimbee’s shorter lecture videos in the form of skits (I found that I absorbed just as many concepts as I did with bar prep companies with much longer lecture videos). Quimbee has multiple choice quizzes following each lecture video to help reinforce what was covered. Quimbee also has very solid essay practice and feedback from licensed attorneys. I found Quimbee to be cheaper than the majority of the competitors. Overall, Quimbee gives you the most manageable route to passing the bar exam, and more often than not for less $ than the competitors, in my humble opinion. For students who don’t want to spend endless hours trying to learn everything that has ever been on the bar exam, and who would prefer a streamlined bar prep course that really mirrors the modernized Uniform Bar Exam system, I think Quimbee is the way to go.

Briefs + exam prep materials = worth it. Lectures are average but do have nice visual components.

It’s a must have for law school. Best comprehensive and most in-depth case briefs of any supplemental law school site. Great for review or checking your ability to pull relevant facts, issue, rule, analysis, etc. And also great for those times when you just can’t bring yourself to open the casebook. The multiple choice and short answer essay prompts are great for review and exam prep. Independent practice of applying the doctrines learned in class are scarce to non-existent. I also find the flash card feature and outlines helpful, but these aren’t too dissimilar from any commercial outline you can probably get for free at your law school (Barbari, etc.). The content of the lectures could be more comprehensive. It’d be nice if they provided an index of frequently cited cases for the topic of discussion. This would allow students to read fact patterns in which the issue/topic of discussion arose. The lectures seem to be an “outline” read aloud. They do have solid illustrations, though, which I find helpful as a visual learner.

Fantastic Resource for Law Students!

Quimbee provides well-informed case briefs along with very detailed outlines that have been incredibly helpful for my law school studies. The summaries are concise but thorough, making complex legal concepts much easier to understand. I especially appreciate the video lessons—they break down complicated topics in a way that’s easy to follow, even when time is tight. The app mirrors the web version seamlessly, offering the same features with no limitations. Whether I need to review case law, take quizzes, or continue where I left off in an outline, everything works smoothly on my phone or tablet. The offline mode is a great bonus, allowing me to study on the go without worrying about internet access.Quimbee’s interface is user-friendly, and I love how easy it is to track my progress. It’s a perfect tool for students looking to stay organized and prepared throughout the semester. Highly recommend!

The videos speak way too fast…
Camediadoc
Quimbee is an excellent app. It provides a lot of useful information in the instructional videos and in the case brief videos. However, my biggest complaint is that the videos speak way too fast most of the time. For the past 2 years, the 0.5x speed button never did anything on my account. So I wrote to Quimbee and they fixed it. So I started listening to videos at 0.5x speed but that speed way painfully slow. What I really need is 0.75x speed so that the video is slowed down enough for me to hear it at a reasonable speed but not too slow. The app allows such smaller incremental speed increases of 1.25x speed if you want to zoom through the video but it doesn’t offer a 0.75x speed if you want to listen slower like I do. I wish they would fix this issue. My second complaint is that while Quimbee has courses on many different subjects, it doesn’t have any learning courses on some popular or specialized subjects like Florida Constitutional Law for example.

Thanks for stopping by, Camediadoc! We haven't had any other reports of the 0.5x speed button not working, but we'd be happy to help you troubleshoot if you email us at support@quimbee.com. Lastly, we don't have state-specific courses, but we have courses that cover all the subjects taught in most U.S. law schools. -Tara
