Monitor your cook
Actively monitor the temperature of your grill and meat probes on your phone. Set and enable pop-up notifications for grill timers or once meat probe goal temperatures have been met. Have the ability to connect and monitor your grill from anywhere, as if you were standing beside your grill.
Your data stored on all your devices
By creating an account through the Camp Chef app, your grill’s cook data is available to you at all times on all your mobile devices. Seamlessly switch between multiple Camp Chef grills. Setup your Camp Chef grill
Use the app to connect your Camp Chef pellet grill to your local WIFI network, pair with Bluetooth, and more.
I have learned to check if there is an update prior to every time I turn on my grill because if I don’t the app is useless. There is really no point to a connected grill that you can’t monitor. The grill continues to be amazing and I just purchased the sidekick, but this app leaves a lot to be desired. The most recent update disabled the ability to set the smoke level with no explanation as to why. Previous updates required me to set everything to default and go back through the setup process to get communication to work. The one issue with the grill itself is the internal wifi antenna which has extremely poor reception which is also problematic for a connected grill.Latest update just as messed up as the last. this continues to be the worst app experience I’ve had.Update: One simple thing this app could do to make it better for users is default to the last used grill or allow setting a default grill. It’s ridiculous for a single grill owner to have extra taps in the app to get to their grill.
Love the grill hate the app

I do want to say I love the grill BUT I purchased this specific grill so I can use my phone to control it and I could use WiFi when I was away or running errands while cooking. The app is a disaster. I am using the Cabela’s app as I have the Cabela’s (made by camp chef) pellet grill. The cabelas app needs serious updating. The app crashes all the time, when it would connect to WiFi it would drop all the time. Now after getting a new controller (old one went out but thankfully covered under warranty) it will not fully connect to WiFi now. The app gets stuck on the “registering grill” page and won’t force past. Grill connected to WiFi but the app won’t show it is so I cannot use all features I paid for.
Great grill, terrible Bluetooth interface and firmware upgrade

I have never had more trouble connecting with a Bluetooth device as I have the Camp Chef woodwind. Failed like 10 times trying to update, before it finally updated then it will not recognize the device even after I gave it the correct pin. Minus 4° outside and I got to keep cycling this thing trying to get it to work. It works fine on its own just don’t expect any remote control from my iPhone 11. After many attempts it finally works again. I hope the next update isn’t so difficult. I’m trying to cook here , not be a computer programmer.Update, back to not connecting again. How frustrating. Quit working half way through a cook.
Better hope you don’t get new wifi

The app and smoker work fine once you initially get everything setup (which could be an absolute nightmare like mine was). But it will work great once everything is connected. That is, right up until you get a new setup for your wifi and then it’s like osamas revenge trying to get the wifi and smoker to connect onto the same wifi again. I have been trying for 30 minutes trying to connect my smoker to wifi and I’m pretty sure I’m divorced, my wife took the kids, she took the dog, and now I’m homeless, with a smoker that won’t connect to anything all because of the yelling to try and get something so simple to connect.…
