Move and scale is back: after choosing a photo, pinch and drag to frame it perfectly in the circle. Thanks for your feedback!

Minor improvements and bug fixes.

Three new posters. • The day you were born: weekday, moon phase, star sign, Chinese year and the date in six calendars — for every entry. • Milestone poster: 10,000 days, 2,000 weeks, a round birthday. One number, large. • Pet name plate: name, species, birthday and the day it came home. • New filter "Under 2": one tap, and only the youngest are left in the list. • Pets and anniversaries are filters now instead of groups — a dog can sit in "Family" and still be found through the pet chip. • Smaller fixes on iPad and in the group view.

The sky on the night you were born. • Star map: enter the birthplace and the app draws the sky exactly as it stood overhead in that moment — 8,404 stars, the constellations joined by lines, and the phase of the moon that night. All computed on the device, no connection needed. • Life-size birth poster: for newborns the drawing is printed exactly as long as your baby was at birth. True 1 : 1 scale, in 20 × 30 in or 50 × 70 cm — sizes you can buy a frame for off the shelf. • Create the poster: either sheet as a PDF at its exact size, or as an image for photo services. Looking and adjusting costs nothing. • Birthplace and time of birth can now be stored with an entry, and they travel with it over iCloud. • Fish, tortoise and reptile added as pet species. • Fixed a crash in Simplified Chinese when creating a reminder.

Your birthdays are yours now. • Import instead of sync: contacts come in once and then behave like any other entry — editable, groupable, deletable. New ones you fetch yourself via Settings → Import from Contacts, without duplicates. • An import adds and corrects, it never takes away: no known birth year, no photo you picked and no group is lost. • Pass a list on: export everything or a single group as a file and send it. Whoever opens it sees what is new and what they already have. • Find duplicates and merge them — in one pass. • On a birthday the app greets you with congratulations, by first name. • Reminders: iOS allows 64 scheduled notifications. The lead time per group and muted groups let you choose which 64 those are. • "Restore earlier version" now says what it is: the app's local backups. For moving to a new device there are iCloud sync and the export. • Faster start — the address book is no longer read on every launch. • If a translation is missing you now see the English text instead of an identifier.

Groups — and reminders that get to the point. • Groups: family, work, friends. One tap filters the list, and each group can carry its own reminder time — or none at all. • Sort several people at once: Settings → Groups. • Notifications now say what they mean instead of repeating the name, and tapping one opens that person straight away. • The Upcoming Birthdays widget can be limited to a single group. • Birthdays around the world: every line now opens a short explanation — where it comes from and what your value means. • The iCloud switch finally says what it does: sync across all your devices.

Birthdays in other calendars. • Lunar and Hijri birthdays: a birthday can now recur by the Chinese lunar, Hijri, Hebrew, Persian or Indian calendar. Reminders and widgets follow the right day. • Milestones: 1,000 days, 100 weeks, a half birthday — each with its own reminder, plus a new Milestones widget. • Share: send a birthday card as an image with one tap. • Birthday around the world: the Chinese zodiac animal with its element, the weekday's colour in Thailand and guardian animal in Myanmar, and the same date in six calendars. • The zodiac sign now shows element, quality, ruling planet and matching signs — translated, and without needing a connection.

• Bought the ad-free version? Then nobody asks for your consent at launch anymore. There was nothing to decide there anyway. • Tidied up inside: less machinery standing between you and the birthdays. • The numbers keep counting, unbothered.

• Age Counter has been redesigned from the ground up for a clearer, more enjoyable experience. • Keep upcoming birthdays in view with the new Home Screen widget. • Respectfully record a loved one's or pet's passing date; birthday reminders are paused automatically. • We have also improved iCloud sync, reminders, and overall stability.

Bug fix release for the birthday year issue. In the last update, a bug could cause saved birth years to stop showing correctly. As a result, ages were missing for some entries and the edit screen could show the year as 1. This update fixes that issue and restores correct year handling for affected entries. If your ages were missing, please update to the latest version and reopen the app. Thank you to everyone who reported this quickly.
