A Firmware Update is Needed

I’ve had my blinds for a few years now and, at first, everything was great. They were reliable, sun tracking worked, I had no complaints. Over time, they’ve become less reliable. I still have no issue with Sun Tracking. My problem is, I have some blinds that ALWAYS have issues. I’ve recalibrated and reset the blinds MULTIPLE times and they remain problematic. Sometimes they decide to work, other times they don’t. I have to control at least 2 of my blinds from the app everyday - it seems they disconnect, but why? Nothing has moved around, and clearly my windows don’t relocate - so why the disconnect?Even the solar chargers don’t always charge the blinds, and my house gets full sun all day long. I have no tree coverage whatsoever, so my blinds should always stay charged. Most of them do, but a couple don’t. It’s baffling. A firmware update is needed. A newer app interface would be nice too. With the clear neglect from Tilt, not sure I’d recommend this product. Great idea and great product, but ongoing maintenance execution leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve spent way too much money on these, plus the solar chargers to have constant performance issues. I’m looking to replace my blinds with shades anyway pretty soon. I can guarantee I will not consider a Tilt product.

Work great until you try add blinds to compatible to smart home devices

We have had a great experience with the blinds so far. However, we have a fridge that has the option to add the smart blinds app to it and we checked compatibility with smart blinds. They are compatible with additional piece of equipment - which we bought. We attempted to set it up and it is not working. However, now we can’t log into the app on our phones anymore either. We tried resetting our password and that doesn’t work either. We tried deleting the app and re-installing it and that is t working either. We looked up the number for support and called that but got a voice recording during business hours that said there are no customer service agents available to assist us so leave a message with your name and number and we will get back to you. Really??? This is frustrating. You measure your own blinds and order them. You install them and then you trouble shoot the issues and you can’t even reach anyone when you need some support. So, where is all the staff?

I have five of the conversion “kits” from MySmartBlinds... on both old and new 2-inch blinds... running for a couple of years now. Taking out the original manual tilt-mechanisms, and replacing with the MSB kits, was easy (minutes). Similarly, getting them connected to the app and scheduling them to do what I wanted was also easy.Five stars for installation and app-setup.I’ll ding them for one star, however, for a minor annoyance they’ve exhibited since day-one: While running on battery power, when the battery indicator gets to about 50%, they start behaving a little squirrelly. Once every couple of days, they randomly open or close for no reason, or fail to open/close when they’re scheduled to. Over the years, I have asked the company about this... and they’ve made some suggestions for resetting the schedules, they’ve sent me a new battery, etc... bandaids... but none have been a “fix”. I’m writing this because one of them *just* closed, mid-morning, on its own.When this starts happening... roughly every two months... I just charge them all up, and the behavior stabilizes. But it’s annoying that the battery indicators all tell me they have plenty of charge remaining, when they start losing their minds.For the price - terrific. But this long-standing annoyance is disappointing.

I never thought a smart appliance would be so complicated. This app is horrendous, the UI and UX (or lack thereof) needs some serious upkeep. Why log me out at LEAST once a week? I have to sign in if I want to open my blinds? No Touch/Face ID integration to make that a quicker process? No voice control whatsoever? Even people with Alexa, which this advertises voice control for, aren’t finding that feature useful. The product itself is nice, but all the software to access the product is such a disaster. Also, just stretching the resolution does NOT equal iPhone X support. There are items nearly inaccessible or unreadable due to being stretched too far up or too close to the home bar.

Switched to offline only in preparation for shutdown of Cloud services. Added backup export/import to still allow sharing of blind data between devices.
