In addition to the free service, there is also a subscription service for $9.99/year that removes the in app ads and allows you to receive automatic push notifications of sightings within your GPS location or favourite locations.
The amount will be charged to your iTunes account and may vary by country and you will see the total price before completing payment. To avoid renewal, you must turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before your subscription ends which you can do by turning off auto-renew at any time from your iTunes account settings.
Note: Dorsal app can track your location while in the background, so you can continue to use your iPhone for other tasks (Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life).

Really good app, however it seems to crash a lot when I check the local pings and notifications. It’s a wonderful idea, love the way it’s set up…if only it didn’t crash every so often it would be perfect!

Something is off with this app. The app takes you to its website when you click on the icon, and asks you to set up an account, but the first response back is a “password invalid” type message, but it never even confirmed my new password or new account or sent me an email to confirm anything. Then when I googled the app, the page that comes up is the same sign up page the phone desktop icon takes you to. The whole experience was too shaky for me to buy into their onerous terms and conditions. Deleted.
Great App But…

The app is great and all. You can see where to hit the beach or go on vacation, when and where to hit the water. I just hate this ONE THING.So, Whenever there are pictures or videos in a report you can’t see them. Why? OH YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION!! Like.. just to see a video and or photo?That’s to extreme..
