I am thankful to be able to use this UK app for our local weather forecast here across the Atlantic, and would further appreciate and subscribe to a tropical forecast feature in order to easily view the UKMet Atlantic hurricane models as well. The UKMet hurricane path models have been consistently more accurate days ahead of other models, e.g. Hurricane Ian in 2022, and would provide life saving prep time if only our local news media in the U.S. platformed the UKMet forecast models as much as the less accurate Euro and consistently wrong American models. I am thankful for the priorities in place in the UK which have enabled adequate funding to support UKMet office’s gifted analysts and superior computers. They benefit the world. Hopefully, the incorporation of AI won’t alter the quality of the product. Many thanks and well-done to UK Met office and please consider adding the hurricane models feature to the app for those of us across the Atlantic who would subscribe for it. And I hope UKMet can keep up the excellent work for many years to come!
Accurate weather info!

As a traveler I have very much appreciated having this app. When it has said rain will start at 1:00, the rain has come within 5 minutes of that. Now, that’s handy! It’s fairly easy to use as well.
Privacy is clearly not a priority

Despite paying for the old ad-free version, seems Met took the opportunity to have a cash infusion. Technical ad delivery is always on. As is something about linking devices, device identification and maybe 100+ cookies that seemed to be tracking more than strictly functional. You can “reject all,” which surprisingly seems to apply to the poorly named “legitimate interests” cookies as well, so that's actually good. Jury's still out on whether it works and applies to new ad providers when added, or if they default to opted-in (as they do when you manually manage cookies). Odd that I must pay for an app when my taxes already finance the organisation, but here we are.Given most european meteorological offices get their data from the same place, jury's out on whether this is actually worth it.If you’re OK with the tracking bits, it’s an ok app. Locations are hard to search for and it covers fewer days than Yr (but seems less pessimistic).
Accurate but not detailed enough

The timing seems to be pretty accurate - I usually cross check with 1-2 other weather apps. But as someone who lives in a rainy area (and being an app that’s from a rainy area), I’m very surprised it doesn’t give any rainfall amount data. 2cm of rain is vastly different from 8cm of rain. Other apps give this
In this release we have:
* added beach information including tide times, safety advice, and wave height
* added links to beach forecasts for locations near beaches
