Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
I had a bike app that I loved. However, when I tried to use it this riding season it wouldn’t work. About two years ago I got a notification that the app would no longer have updates and you couldn’t download it. Mine still worked so I figured no problem…until this year. I can’t tell you how many apps I tried and hated. I even tried the beloved Strava and hated it. I wanted a bike app that showed me mph, max speed and average speed. I couldn’t find one that did that. Seriously, i think i tried 5 other apps before finding this one. I like being told my altitude changes at the end of my ride too. This app did it all. My ONLY complaint is the bar telling you your max and average speed and other info is so tiny. I wish it were just a little bigger. I do love that this app has an auto-pause function. That was one thing I loved about Strava. My old app that I loved didn’t have that and when I paused it I would sometimes forget to restart it. I love that I don’t have to worry about it at all. I also love that this app doesn’t seem to use as much battery power as other apps I’ve used. I also like hearing the beeps after each mile. Last, I like that this app tracks close to my Apple Watch in mileage. A few of the other apps I tried would vary tremendously. I know none are truly accurate unless you put a sensor on your bike, but it’s frustrating to get 2 completely different mileage amounts. These are so close and I prefer that. Great app, I love it and will be upgrading to the paid version.
Very Good Cycle app
Pdreyfuss1
I just started using this app and it seems to be very good and very accurate. I bought the full version after reading some of the previous reviews. I do have a few questions/suggestions1. You have an option for auto pause, but not for auto resume. Am I missing something? If this feature is available please advise and if not please add. 2. Is there an option to keep the screen on continually or can you set it to go off in various intervals of time like 5 minutes so as not to run the battery down? 3. Is there a way to hide the GPS map and only engage it when you want like a drop down. Normally, I just want to see my stats for everyday riding. 4. Please add the ability to set the intervals of distance to be notified. Currently there is only 1 mile and it would be nice to have the option of 2 or 5 miles ( km)Thank you. I think it’s a great app and will continue to use it and enjoy it.
Glitchy and inaccurate GPS tracking.
Milwaukee-BK
Purchase this app a couple of weeks ago and have done numerous rides on various trails. Rode the trails and courses on the same path leaving and coming back and the GPS tracking is very glitchy and strays way off of the path that I have traveled in many instances. When you look at the map either in progress or afterword, the line of travel revers way off course and then eventually back again. Thought that perhaps auto pause was a contributor, so I turned it off and still have the same problem. Have been tempted to stop the app at the midpoint of my trip, and then restart it again as a new trip on the way back, but one should not have to do this to map a full ride. Even then, a single ride in one direction will often show the GPS veering way off course by blocks, for quite a distance until it rejoins your intended path. Using this app on an iPhone with current software updates. Very frustrating since I have no idea whether this is tracking the correct mileage distance, estimated calories and or time. If these were done on cloudy days where satellite tracking could be questionable, I would understand, but this occurs on almost every ride no matter how simple. Definitely needs some type of tracking fix.
App is great but has one long standing defect
Watch training faster
This app is great. I use all most every day. It has one long standing defect though. When you stop it goes into auto pause which is a great feature. But you would think auto pause means that that stop is not included in your average speed. Unfortunately that paused time is still included in you average speed as of February 2022. You can verify this and easily reproduce the defect by going into auto pause and staying stationary. The longer you stay stationary the more your average speed decreases.
