Illumination with red light or bulb light at night in astronomical observation. The NightVision Light is an illumination app (variable light intensity) that is best suited for operations in the dark. You can light close at hand softly with either red color light or bulb light according to your intentions. Red color light mode protects your night vision. There might be occasions that you need to confirm with a star map or check the settings of your telescope or camera in the dark with a flashlight. However, white color light of the flashlight spoils your dark-adapted eye because the pupil of your eye shrinks by it. In this reason, it is necessary to take a preventive measure against it by using a red color light of low illumination that allows for maintaining your vision in the dark. The NightVision Light app turns the screen to illumination in red color to protect your night vision. Bulb light mode prevents the reddish foreground from "star-scape" photos caused by the red color light. It is very effective to apply the red color light for operations in the dark to avoid affecting your night vision. However, amount of light received by the sensor of your camera is good enough and the red color light may cause a reddish foreground (fogging in red) in the "star-scape" night photography. To avoid this phenomenon, the bulb light model is newly applied. The intensity of the bulb light is variable.

The brightness of the red light changes the screen display in app only. Other apps would change the brightness on my actual phone. The red can go soo dim. Perfect for using my phone in the middle of the night as a flashlight. This was exactly what I was looking for!!!

Goes really dim without altering iPhone brightness. Also no fiddling with buttons etc. just up down swiping anywhere adjusts brightness which is handy when stargazing etc and preserving night vision. Simple and effective. Great app!

This app is one of the best I've used or seen in years however, the fact that the manufacturer has for so long failed to provide basic and essential privacy information is a HUGE problem. Well, APPLE is partly at fault here for releasing this without enforcing its disclosure requirements on this, this manufacturer truly has no excuse for failing to give customers this info given the amount of time this thing has been on the market. A customer is left to then conclude the app may be a means to hack and phish 😉... !

I wish there was more colors, like green and blue- but still it’s amazing. There’s a clock, date, and 2 colora to choose, and they don’t really hurt the eye either.

It is updated that the NightVision Light can be switched to color of bulb light like our Astro LED Lamp SG-L01. The explanation of the NightVision app has been replaced.
