The App Needs Work

The idea of the app overall is cute with how you can customize it and set up your funds, etc. But the app itself is total garbage. It’s so laggy. The photos never fit in the frame with how you adjusted it. It always logs me out. I was creating my website on my phone via a browser and I was like “oh this is so bad, let me just get the app.” Assuming it would be 10x better. No, it’s not lol. They really need to work on the app bugs and glitches…

We had used Honeyfund for our wedding this past year and was looking for an easy way to set up a registry that would allow people to “get us gifts” while allowing us the flexibility to choose what we want to spend it on. The interface itself was very easy to set up and use on both ends and after the wedding, started taking out the money with their PayPal option. There are plenty of other gift card options from various companies and stores to choose from as well, but not what we were looking for out of this. Halfway through us taking the money out, Honeyfund changed their options to only allow instant transfers to PayPal which includes a 2% transaction fee, removing the free version altogether. For those looking to use this in the future, beware!

We found out our wedding guests had been contributing and their money was never coming through. Half of the guests cards got declined and the other half had no clue it didn’t work. We had to sheepishly send out a message to our wedding guests saying that if they tried to use it we never received anything and to make sure they didn’t lose the money. When I contacted honey fund they were no help and we ended up dealing with this only a few days right before the wedding. Very stressful. On top of that my husband and I did a test run on it and it only worked for us??? We literally had a friend try it right in front of us, then my parents, and his and nobody had it work for them.
