gldMix allows you to control your GLD-80 or GLD-112 digital mixer from your iPhone or iPad. Free to use. If it earns a place in your stage kit, there's an optional tip jar under the … menu — it unlocks nothing, it just keeps the app maintained. • Save and recall mix presets for your monitors • Limit user access only to certain types of busses to avoid unintentional changes • Customize channel order and hide channels so you can quickly access only the ones you need • Works on your iPhone, unlike other GLD remote Apps • Compatible with GLD-80 or GLD-112 mixers • Optimal for mixing in-ear-monitors from the stage Note: Unfortunately, there is no public way via this protocol to read the current board fader positions. This means that when you first start the App, you need to load a preset or create a new one from scratch due to this limitation.

I'm sorry, and that's a fair complaint about the version you paid for. It has since been rewritten from scratch with a more reliable connection, automatic reconnects and a safer console sync, and it's free now. If it still won't connect, ryanbrink.com/gldmix gets to me and I'd like the chance to fix it.

I personally use this app for our GLD 80 at church. It works but you need to know how to set it up. One minus point is it does not load the current setting from the console. You have to basically override your aux mix every time.

That limitation is real and it's the one I most wish I could fix. The GLD's MIDI protocol has no message that reports current fader or send levels, so the app genuinely can't know them until you move something. Presets are the practical answer: build a mix, save it, and recall it next time instead of rebuilding. 3.0 also remembers your last bus per console. Thanks for using it at your church.

We got the GLD80 and had our band purchase this app and we cannot get it to connect, no matter what we do.

Having your whole band buy it and then not connect is the worst version of this. Two things changed: it's free now, so a band never has to buy multiple copies again, and 3.0 is a rewrite with automatic console discovery and reconnects. One common cause back then - GLD Editor holds the console's MIDI port, so it has to be closed before connecting.

Fixes faders jumping while you move them. The console echoes every change back to the app, and those echoes arrive a moment late — so while you were dragging a fader, the app kept snapping it back to positions you had already moved past. It was most obvious right as you lifted your finger. The app now ignores the console's echo of a change it just made, while still picking up moves you make on the desk itself. Recalling a preset had the same problem, worse: it pushes all 48 levels at once, so the whole surface would shuffle afterwards. That is fixed too.
