I’ve had my Horizon treadmill for about a year and this app is a huge pain. Most of these apps offer multiple types of programs, but I have never found any of those helpful. Across devices and apps, I prefer the “manual” setup. However unlike some others, this app does not allow me to save the “manual” program for using again and again. I have to set the speed, incline and time at every workout. And then it doesn’t always start, so my workout info is not gathered. Luckily, the Apple fitness indoor walk captures it even if this app doesn’t.It also doesn’t work very well to see previous workouts. There isn’t a table or anything. We have to use “roller” selectors to get to the date and that won’t display properly if the phone is in “dark” mode. Have to change to “light” mode to see the selection. I would love to have the ability to save a program and for to see a history table with the usual controls to sort the data by day or year or any of the values really. It should also display properly in “dark” mode.

I bought this treadmill because it advertised that instead of using an expensive built in screen, you just connect your phone or tablet. The problem is the app is terrible. The picker to set your birthdate is invisible. You can’t know what date you are on. That’s embarrassing.Going back to see previous workouts in the app is pitiful, too. First, you cannot select an individual workout, only a certain day or date. Picking any other day than today is a crap shoot, because again the picker is invisible. You can’t get many details of those workouts either. It records total calories, pace, speed, time and distance as well as heart rate. No incline, no splits, no charts, no nothing else. Very week. The website for my treadmill advertised integration with other apps. Ok, that is actually helpful, but not great. I use google login for Fitbit. Guess what, AFG Pro errors out every time you try to log in that way. Ok, that is out. That leaves three other app icons to try. One of the three seems to no longer exist. Two down, two to try. That leaves MapMyFitness and MapMyRun. They both work (for how long?). Both save the same info as AFG Pro, but at least it is easy to see individual workouts. Integration with apps like Peloton is touted, but of course you can use the Peloton app with any treadmill. I should have checked this app out before o bought the treadmill. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth crating the treadmill back up and shipping it back. The treadmill does seem nice and I’ll learn to work around this crappy app.

Pros: Links to Bluetooth on elliptical. Can change settings while working outCons:The font in multiple displays to change what’s displayed is white on white and unusable: User age, user workout history to select start date or end date. Sometimes the font to change the history will be a light grey on white, but most the time I can’t read anything more than the “yes” or “no” to save.(Update: if your overall display settings are set to “light” this works as intended, if your settings are “dark” than the above review is accurate)The data does not sync with the device (elliptical). If I set up user information on my phone, it does it save for the data on the elipltical, each user then must use their own device to see their name and always use the same divide to save history which would be “fine” if the app data also saved to my health data on my phone. App data does not sync with health data in my phone. Apple health does not read AFG data. See above. I know I’m out of shape but it would be great to see progress.History on app only shows averages and totals. It does not display the data so that you can see how your out of shape pandemic body got into shape... also, would be ok, if it synced data to Apple health which does do these things. (See above)Must sync before workout not during. Does not actually sync with devide automatically(?) I haven’t done this enough to say with certainty but so far this has been inconsistant. I was excited about the elliptical and the app, but I guess now, I’ll just be excited to see updates.

The AFG Pro Fitness App is basically useless for us. It will not connect to more than one device. My fiancé cannot connect his phone prior to his workout while I am home because the treadmill automatically connects to my phone instead. I have to completely turn off my Bluetooth in order for him to connect, but even then all of the data saved on my app doesn’t communicate to his app once he is connected. Also, none of the toggle-style selections are visible on our phones to select birthday or dates.Finally, having the app connected to the treadmill completely disengaged all manual functionality. So even if we wanted to just have one of our phones connected and the other user operate the machine manually, we can’t. So we ultimately just deleted the app from our phones and will use the treadmill manually. Rather disappointing.
