Cribbage is a pre-existing card game that was created in the 1600's known for it's unique wooden board and scoring system. It's a remarkable game that combines chance and skill that can be enjoyed by players of all ages. Don't worry if you don't know the rules - the grandpas will teach you!

- Several levels of difficulty for the beginner to the expert cribbage player to choose from!
- Hundreds of lines of dialogue to help your grandpa's personality come alive!
- Share photos of your grandpa on facebook and twitter!
- Plenty of different environments and snacks, each with charming sonic accompaniment!

What other people have been saying about Cribbage With Grandpas:

"It’s a well-designed mobile card game, but the real stars are still the grandpas. Grandpa looks down at his cards while thinking, then back up at you when talking. He falls asleep when you take too long to play. He makes little rhymes while counting his crib. He brings the game to life in ways a username on a background never could. We couldn’t have cared less about cribbage before, but now we love Cribbage With Grandpas."
- Jillian Werner, GameZebo

"I feel disproportionately happy that this exists." - Willpie, MetaFilter

Perfect! Want more like this!

Wonder app! Does exactly what it says on the tin. For a small price you get a clean looking game with no adverts. Highly customizable grandpas teach you to play cribbage and improve your game.

There is a tutorial grandpa who teaches you cribbage, then you get to make your own grandpas to play with.

I've built three: Grandpa Walton a beginner cribbage player; Grandpa Leonard (who looks just like my own late grandpa). An intermediate player; and grandpa Einstein an expert. You can even give them personality traits, so Grandpa Leonard is silly and tells jokes very like my own grandpa, while I made Grandpa Einstein intelligent and serious and he keeps talking about looking into the abyss or the probability of cribbage hands.

The only flaw is the algorithm might slight skew the cards grandpas with different levels of skill get dealt. It is not the only difference, Grandpa Walton definitely plays his hands badly too.

Love this game, made me very nostalgic for my grandpa and fun to play against the Einstein-lookalike I created. Would love other versions. I used to play gin rummy and Whist with my grandpa. Would also be fun to play board games like snakes and ladders or chess with grandpa. And don't forget about Grandma!

Frustrating game play. If you play cribbage with real people do not play this game!

The game play is abhorrent. The developers should’ve paid as much attention to the play as they did to the aesthetics. In no human game of cribbage have I ever witnessed such skewed game play. I just watched my opponent, through three full games, get only one hand under 10 points, while I had more than a dozen hands dealt with no more than 4 possible points. During play my opponent will, during one hand, play brilliantly, always having the pair or the third of a kind. Then, on the next hand they will inexplicably lay down a 5 to start, all while having multiple other, less dangerous, options available. It’s frustrating playing against what is so obviously a poorly constructed algorithm. Get it together. Let’s also mention the issue with runs during the play. There has never been a case where the opponent has not had a answer to a run card. Literally never. If I start the play and lay down a two, he then lays down a three, and then if I lay down a four, he will always have a three or five. What’s worse is that this continues. If I then lay down an appropriate card to continue the run, he will, without fail, respond with the appropriate run card. He never cannot match the run. It only ends when either I cannot complete the run or we approach 31. I could go on, but Jesus. Just fix it.

Solid Title, But A Few Kinks...

I’ve had this game for nearly a year and usually had no complaints—there’s no goatees or full beards for your grandpa, but I can usually make that work. The gameplay is solid and intuitive, allowing you to watch how your grandpa scores and ask him for help—but thankfully it also allows you to skip that if you’re in a rush and Grandpa’s got a 14-point-hand. In short, this game does a great job of teaching you Cribbage.

However, I did notice a major glitch recently—you cannot win when placing down cards at the beginning. I was one point away from victory, with one card in my hand. Grandpa played a nine, and lo and behold that was my card! I played it, my score moved to 121, and then nothing happened! I tapped on Grandpa, and he simply told me to select a card from my now-empty hand. I’d appreciate it if this was fixed.
