We’ve been doing our banking with Univest (formerly Union National) since the ‘70s when we moved to Bucks County. In all those years we have had nothing but great service from wonderful employees, and never an iota of a problem. We’re still banking with Univest in Ocean City and I was thrilled when I discovered they had a branch down here.

Mobile Deposit is bad

At first I thought this app was an amazing improvement however the mobile deposit is really terrible. It tells you to make sure you have your signature, “For mobile deposit only” and your account number on the back. I did all those things and it still was telling me to endorse it with “For mobile deposit only”. I called my branch and they were 1. rude and 2. told me I wasn’t supposed to sign it or put my account number??? but it CLEARLY states that you need to and I even screenshotted it. So now I have to take my check to the bank for them to fix the check. Very unhappy. Don’t make a mobile deposit section if its just going to make it harder for everyone to deposit checks.

We have a few tips to assist with mobile deposit to make sure the software recognizes when you have completed the steps for depositing a check: use a dark pen, leave a clear space between your signature and the “For Mobile Deposit Only”, and take the picture in a well-lit area. Mobile Deposit is bad

Fix the check deposit already!

What’s the deal with the check deposit? Each check use to require dozens of attempts with different angles, lighting and shadows as it keeps rejecting it. This new version? FAILS COMPLETELY. NOT A SINGLE SUCCESSFUL CHECK READOUT. ALSO, back of the check is PRINTED with “For mobile deposit only” and the app keeps saying it’s not in the back. Can’t click on the image but only the “tap here” text…. It takes less time to travel to a branch and recover from coronavirus than this stupid app. We may have to move our business account out of Univest just because of this feature. I don’t have time for this and don’t need a bank that think that this experimental beta junk is remotely okay for business
