more I started using Spark 4 years ago. It was exactly what I wanted and imagined - a simple video app that can help me document my travels. The simplicity of the interface makes a world of difference! You simply film along, a few seconds at a time, your trip, and in the end easily turn it into a music video that you can look back on. However, at the time the app was far from perfect. It didn’t have transitions so the video always cut off in an abrupt way. But what I love the most about this app is that the people behind it keep improving it over the years! I wrote to them and right away they wrote me back this nice email telling me about new functions they added to help me achieve a smoother fade-in and fade-out. I also told them my problems with sound transition. And literally the next update came with just the functions I needed. I can’t say it was my suggestion that prompted this, but I do know that they genuinely listen to their users’ feedback and are making the app better all the time! For that reason alone, Spark is so worth supporting because its makers genuinely care about how us users feel and they incorporate our feedback. Keep up the good work Team Spark! I now have over 80 videos of travel memories to look back on, I look forward to making many many many more ❤️

I am probably a greenhorn when it comes to the video editors. This review is focused on that fact. If you are experienced with two or more other production apps for posting short video content on social media, this app may not have features that suit you. These might be overlays, masking, higher level of title and text controls, such as animated or active morphing, or photo and video manipulation, such as exposure and integrated color retouching. To be clear, the preset color filters are many and super easy to view by swiping the screen to pan thru the entire set while not changing your window. The text, duration, recorder and added sound controls, and clip features are fabulous for their easy access and control. No pull downs, no hidden features and the app has a unassuming help feature that does its job. If you are looking for a fast editor that doesn't tie you up with tons of toggles and selections, this app is great. Movie clips around within the movie stream: easy and fast! You don't any mysteries about the flow. I can see this getting better because these people were thinking "user-friendly" more than complex. It does what's it is supposed to do; produce good movies short and sweet.

Really love the app. I use it every day as a way to record my own personal daily vlogs. But there are times when I’m exporting that when it completes the ring it doesn’t do anything. It just waits. So I usually have to force close reopen then try again. Usually it’ll work again but gets frustrating waiting twice. The other thing is after recording a fairly long single clip (> 50 sec) there’s a bit of a delay before I can start recording again. Sometimes I immediately press to record but if it’s in the middle of that delay it doesn’t capture anything. So I end up wasting a shot. And the last issue I’d really love to have and been asking for a few years now is to have orientation lock. I shoot in landscape and because you don’t have a lock I need to keep my phone “orientation free” to accommodate Spark. It’s not a big deal most of the time except when I’m lying down on my side and everything rotates. So having a lock on the video orientation would be great. Otherwise great app!

Is Tokyo your favorite filter? We've added the ability to reorder filters, as well as enable and disable filters. So you can now move your favorite filters to the front so that they're easier to access!

Introducing Super Transitions!
We've added zoom transitions and motion blur transitions! These new Super Transitions give you the power of a pro video editor in Spark Camera. When editing a clip, tap on the transition buttons to the left or right of a clip to add a transition.
Metal Video Engine
The team has completely re-built the Spark video processing engine from the ground up using Metal to take full advantage of the iPhone GPU. Our new custom Metal Performance Shaders render our filters beautifully and make the entire performance of the app so much smoother while using less memory and battery. Exporting 4K video is also much faster and more robust. We think you’ll love how fast and efficient our new Metal video processing is.
TikTok Integration
We've seen a huge rise in people using Spark to make videos for TikTok. The music, camera, and quick-cuts in Spark have been perfect for the TikTok aesthetic. We now have an integration with TikTok which lets people share directly into TikTok with one-tap, complete with automatic tagging.
