When we’re on a roll in Phoenix II, we feel unstoppable. Untouchable. Like Quicksilver in the X-Men movies. This “bullet hell” shooter’s silky-smooth controls (even better with 3D Touch) are as stunning as its graphics. And with dozens of uniquely armed ships and daily mission updates, the replayability’s insane.

This game is so fun. Hard to find a hella fun and replay able bullet hell. The ships are always fun to upgrade and amazing to play with. The promotion system is super cool and the community is awesome for me and my friends to compete in. I’ve been playing since the first five months at least, and I only have a few suggestions. I wish, that for the sake of my friends, you could go to a players profile from a leaderboard like normal, except if they were in your community or if you got to the profile from the community mission, you could send your ships to them. Like a gifting system. Just so you could have more interaction and so that new players could get more ships, without the devs losing money, since player one would have spent money or earned credits for upgrades and now it’s just another player getting it from them, if player one gives it up. I’d also love some way to play offline. It would be cool if there was like a story mode so you’d have like a hundred missions available, and once you finished them you would get a few credits, much less than normal presumably, but still. Then they get harder and harder and you could replay them, just so you don’t lose the game offline. these are all things that people I know and people that have the game have agreed would be wonderful, but I am very satisfied as it is. One minor thing would be a way of pawning ships for credits, just if you needed extra. That’s all from me, hope you guys see this, love the game!

This game is absolutely perfect as far as gameplay is concerned. I love the 3D Touch interaction, and the wide variety of ships. It’s also hard enough to keep you playing, but not too hard to make you give up instantly. The only thing I would change is the amount of money you can earn. You are limited to a max of 725 a day. That’s if you win everything, which isn’t easy. Please, add more than 50 credits when you activate the warp gate and win the package. Waiting 12 hours for that and only getting 50 credits is very disappointing. Other than that though, this is one of the very best mobile games on the market. To add onto my review, I would like to add a few suggestions that could make the game even better. It would be amazing if there was an endless mode, where you survive wave by wave and see how far you can get on each difficulty. Also, it would be really great if there was a way to customize ships. For example, after you reach a certain level (or maybe even add a creative mode), you can choose a ship, which weapon you would like it to have, what defenses it can have, and what special abilities it can have. I think those would be some seriously great additions that will make everyone love this amazing game even more! Thank you for ready!

They are meant to give you an incentive to focus two to three ships (or more if you're like me who's played from day one, saving up thousands of credits...) to your play style. And plus, the small perks don't suddenly make the game easier. SSSS waves in Act V are just as hair-raising as ever. What they have done, however, is make more ships more versatile. Like the Phoenix ship before was useless for SSSS. Now though, you can actually complete a SSSS laser-heavy mission because its improved EMP can sync up enemy laser firing, and its new personal shield reflects those lasers right back at the enemy ships. So much salt in some of these reviews. Some of you guys really just need to "git gud" before complaining about all this added content.********Edit for 1-year anniversary: Absolutely love what the game has become. Perfect difficulty curves, a bevy of ships to play and unlock, and still perfect for short doses. The added "ultimate upgrades" really let you pick and choose your favorite ships to focus on, as the small perks added to the new abilities can make or break you in the SSSS levels. Turn up your volume for this update with lots of improvements and additions across the board. Main changes: * Added and improved sound effects in game and interface. * All Apex mods now have a fitting rarity assigned to them. * Several Apex mods were buffed to match regular mods. * Mods can now be purchased for every ship in a player's collection. * Existing mods have been tweaked in power and to allow more combinations. * More mods have been made available. * Adds alternative control scheme for Controller.
