Health Data Importer is the easiest, fastest, and most reliable way to transfer your Health data from your old phone to your new one. Don't depend on other apps that might lose your data—Health Data Importer is battle-tested with thousands of users and supports all versions of Apple's Health XML format. Start fresh without a backup when you get your new device and easily import your existing health data. Health Data Importer imports all Health data except Activity Summaries, Stand Hours, Exercise Time, and Nike Fuel data (these are API limitations).
If you ever have wanted to bring all of your health data onto a new phone without having to do a full iCloud restore, this is the app for you.
To see how easy it is, just watch the preview video (no sound). Note: while we use iCloud Drive in the preview video, iCloud Drive does not need to be enabled in order to perform an import. Just send your import to yourself in Apple mail and open it with Health Data Importer.
Health Data Importer integrates with the HealthKit framework and Health.app to import your Health XML exports.

◆ Help and Support ◆
If you run into an issue, please email our team at support@lionheartsw.com. We've helped many customers import their data successfully and will try our best to help you too.
◆ Health XML Splitter ◆
Health Data Importer has trouble handling large exports, so we've written a macOS tool, called Health XML Splitter, to help you split them up into smaller pieces. Health XML Splitter is available for free on the Mac App Store.

With all the 1 star reviews I was nervous about paying for an app that might now work. Thankfully I didn’t have any problems and my health data from my old phone was able to be imported to my new phone within 2 minutes or so. Be aware you have the option to import from health data such as iPhone or Apple Watch. Don’t choose both or you will have some overlapping duplicate info. It’s easy to delete from the health app and re import from one source. I imported from my Apple Watch, which had over 200k pieces of data. The numbers are ever so slightly off but close enough that I don’t mind. Be aware, this app won’t import things like closed rings and awards from the Apple fitness app. I don’t think the data points that you import count toward your trends (like comparing 2022 steps to 2023 steps, etc). But at least the data is here on my phone now!

Restored 1.5 years of health data in a minute!!!

Thank you!!! I needed to reset my phone due to a bizarre ghost photos situation that was using ALL of my 65g of space! If I restored the data, the problem came back. I lost my health data but gained the proper space. Luckily, this time (this has happened before) I was able to export my health data PRIOR to resetting my phone. I just bought this app and imported that data in about a minute!!! 65k data points all back!!! Woo hoo!!! I'm recovering from an injury and that data is very meaningful to me. The progress of my body keeps me going on the tough days. Apple has failed in this regard and I am so grateful Lionheart Software took the time to write this incredibly useful app. ❤️

You're so welcome! I'm so happy to hear that the app imported everything without an issue 🙌. Thanks so much for the kind review and hope you have a speedy recovery from your injury. 💪- Dan
Absolute junk! Crashes every time!

I had to delete my Health apps, and their databases, to solve a data sync problem across devices. So I exported my data and bought the Health Importer bundle to restore data to my iPhone (XS; running iOS 17.5.1) to restore the database and re-sync to the other device. No matter what I did, the importer would crash and import nothing. Apple Health generates thousands of data points every month. If, like me, you have a years-long database, with hundreds of thousands of data points, and need to restore it, forget it. This app will just crash and not import anything. I needed to provide my Apple Health data to my health care providers and now all I have are two unusable XML files. This developer should be thankful my personal resources are limited. Because this kind of data loss is the stuff lawsuits are made of. Update: The free Health XML Splitter Mac desktop app —designed to break up large Apple Health XML databases into smaller chunks that Health Importer can use— also doesn’t work. All it did was create one highly compressed database that also made Health Importer crash.

Hi there. I am so sorry that this happened. Could you please email us so we can help resolve the issue? When new iOS versions are released and the XML files contain new properties, importing them will fail due to safeguards in Apple Health. If you could reach out to us @ support@lionheartsw.com, we'd be happy to look into the issue and resolve the crashes. Best, Dan

I have had one of the worst and most stressful experiences buying a new iPhone. After days of struggling to get all my old information onto my phone I realized that all my health data didn’t sync up. I didn’t want to start the process all over and found a blog that recommended this app. Literally could not have been easier. The whole process took under 5 minutes (granted I only have about 6 months of health data anyway) and all my information is now appearing on my new phone. I can breathe a sigh of a relief and feel so thankful for at least one thing going right throughout this whole process. Worth the money!!
# STABILITY IMPROVEMENTS
This version fixes a crash that occurred when menstrual cycle entries were missing a start date, and another when data points contained sync identifier metadata keys but not a corresponding sync version.
If you had a good experience with Health Data Importer, please write a review! It means the world to us.
