I have been playing this game for a little more than a year and there are parts that I do like and other parts I don’t like. I like the alliances and how they are fun to be in and be able to work together as a team. I like the events, and the rewards they offer. And the items that are being sold in the app’s store r both good and reasonable. That being said, there are something’s I have problems with. The first one is the island’s we can’t explore yet; they’re the cannibal islands, fountain of youth, island of knowledge, and the abandoned ruins. I would like to be able to do something with them other than them just being there. The second issue that I have is the left over letters from certain events that they just disappear after an update/maintenance and it seems like a waste to me. Is there any way to be able to sell the extra letters for something instead of just taking them away? Third in the alliance research after donating a certain amount there is a 4 hour cool down limit. I am wondering is there a way to increase the cool down to somewhere in between 8-10 hours please? I am very busy at my work and I sometimes can’t make it in time to keep maxing out my donations. And finally I have tried many times to try and hit players bases so that I can get there gear and get some souls of the blacksmith out of them but they’re either shielded or too strong for me to defeat. However would it be possible to have the eitc’s/notorious pirates have random gears for use players to get, within the realm of reasoning?Thank you for what you have done, for your time in reading this review, and for updating the game to still keep us interested in it. The game is nice and fun at first but literally gets the point where unless you spend money you cannot continue. The upgrades start at basic prices then they go into double and triple digit millions and some even have stages!!! Like seriously?? They put these obstacles in place to drain you of resources that you clearly cant farm. To farm you need tickets that literally have less then a 5% drop rate!!! The game promotes alot of gambling filled with false promises. I bet nobody in the games history has even won those max rewards they claim to give. The more you spend the less they care about you. Every-time you gamble you will always get the minimum prize. Rarely ever do you get a high prize and the accumulated amount that you spend before getting lucky is way over worth. Some higher games get lost from being unable to heal or upgrade from such a high requirement. Ship boxes and gems ALWAYS give minimum. You will always feel robbed spending here. Plus the developers expect you to put so much time you will literally be all day on the phone just to get better then most players. Do yourself a favor and take you time and money to another game that will actually appreciate you and listen when you have a concern or problem. Another problem is players can literally rob your resources, pirates and equipment. You can literally spend $100 on resources and get robbed and the games allows this obscenity!!!

Joycity helps overcome the addiction

This is a very fun and addictive game. I have become quite obsessed with it. My alliance is very fun and we became good friends for real, all around the world.The only bad point about the game is all the bugs and lag sometimes. The bugs are not corrected ... this week there was a maintenance and emails with compensation rewards would appear again. My daughter had a lot of fun seeing the bug repeating itself. Also testing when it would stop. Well ... Joycity did not find it amusing, the bug was really bad ... benefiting players for once, instead of causing them damage. As a result of their own mistake and lack of testing ... we do the testing for them, apparently, they banned any player that “collected items repeatedly”. So they suspended the accounts of all these players, including me. We got a 3 day suspension and now an extra 5 days. Supposedly if all goes well, the suspension will be lifted on 11/26.Well ... 11/26 is Thanksgiving so there is no chance I will be playing the game then. Besides the more I cannot play, the less interested I am. The “addiction” effect is clearly wearing off. Thank you to Joycity for putting their revenues in jeopardy to try to save me. It’s working !!! I discovered the sun is shining, nature is beautiful, my dog loves it, and my family is really happy I put the phone down !!! Thank you Joycity for helping me stop playing the game ! 3 1/2 years and now I am free !!! I don’t think I will be back. I got time back that i can use more wisely!Why do you keep taking this review down ??? Truth hurts ?

No access while waiting for update

I have an issue, I’ve checked the community page for answers, I’ve even asked other players in chat but nobody seems to have an answer for me. It appears that whenever push updates are sent to the Apple store it takes 10+ hours for those new updates to become available for download. During this waiting period, the game can’t be access. The loading screen stops around 17% and says “Update your client”. After clicking on the link I’m taken to the game’s page in the App Store where there is no update available to download. Clearly if this was correct then I should be allowed to access the game. Now I have to start the process of checking every few hours to see if I can download the update, it’s very annoying. I have no idea if everyone on my server is experiencing the same issue, if my fortress is being attacked, if my piece shield has ran out, or the status of my resources/ships/sailors etc. Unless there’s an actual reason besides performance for having the game sever and client synchronized for every update, I don’t think it’s a good user experience to force players to have to update and to lock them out for the duration of that time. Especially for those of us who pay to play this game. I recommend removing the restricted access, allowing players to enter the game, notify us that there are updates available and allow us to update at our own pace. I’ve played plenty of games and this the first time I’ve had to deal with forced updates, it’s terrible.
