Now faster and more stable than ever. Offline maps, community-mapped trails and camps, and Rally Point trips you can join. Built by overlanders since 2018.
Overland Bound One is the app for overlanders and off-road explorers. Find trails and campsites shared by overlanders who’ve been there, plan trips with real route maps, and meet up with members near you. Built by overlanders specifically for adventure on and off-road.
Find the spots worth the drive
Thousands of overland-specific trails, camps, and resources, mapped by the community. Dispersed camping on USFS and BLM land, established campgrounds, fuel and water resupply, and mechanics who know 4x4s. Add your own finds or explore what’s already there.
Maps built for off-road
Switch between the layers you need: road, satellite, topo, National Forests, BLM routes, and USFS MVUM roads and trails. Toggle the map by Trails, Resources, Members, or Rally Points. Only see what you need when you need it.
Go off-grid with Expedition mode
Members get offline maps, track recording, GPX import and export, offline navigation, and three-word GPS location lookup for when there’s no signal and no road.
Rally Points: trips you can actually join
Members create trips, meetups, training days, and events with routes and details specific to overlanding. Browse what’s happening near you, or organize your own.
A map full of people who get it
The Member Map shows Overland Bound members worldwide. Check in, ask a local what the trail’s like this week, or reach out to members in a specific area when you need help.
Overland Bound is a global community of overlanders. Download the app, make a free account, and start exploring. Membership unlocks Expedition mode and the full planning toolkit.
If you haven’t tried the latest version it’s night and day difference. The look and feel is similar but the improvements, stability, and new features are everywhere. Quickly becoming the only app needed. Definitely different from other apps in that this one is community centric. The developers and Michael listen closely to all suggestions and quickly implement them. Pretty amazing really.

Thank you so much! We are cranking every day to continue improvements!
Fraud Alert!

I’ve had this app since 2021. Back in May 10th 2025 I ordered merch from their online store. After a month of not receiving or hearing anything I reached out and was told they had sent out for production of the emblem and would ship out end of week. Here we are July 14th. Still no product. I’ve sent 4 additional emails in past week to get an answer and absolute crickets. No email, no phone call. They don’t have a legitimate business address, it’s registered in Delaware but doing business in California. No contact phone. I’ll be sending complaints to both states of DE and CA. Also going to cancel the subscription renewal, as this app hasn’t really added in value for the price and with other options being much better. Sorry to go, but you’ve had ample time to make this right. Refund my money please. Bad business!
New update is lovely. But…..

The new update is fantastic but there is one feature that I have been really waiting on someone to do and that is off-road nav via CarPlay. I normally tuck my phone away while driving so the ability the use and view off-road nav via my head unit would be lovely. I have a cheaper aftermarket radio and can’t afford a garmin tread or something like that so this one feature would be game changing. Even on x off-road doesn’t do this. (Technically they do but it doesn’t actually do much. As I am talking about a full useful UI. )
Keeps getting better

I really love the fact that this app keeps getting great updates. Especially on the maps side. The forums are a wealth of information but the map feature is impressive. I’ve easily been able to locate campsites and trails near me that I never knew existed. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
You asked. We fixed. We went through the whole app and made it faster, tougher, and better in the backcountry.
- Offline mode now switches on automatically when you lose signal, and back off when it returns
- Track recordings survive app kills and restarts, and offline uploads are safe
- Rally Point event preview map and Rally Point icons fixed
- Fixed crashes on startup, in reviews, offline map downloads, and elevation readouts
- Route planning tells you when it falls back to a straight line
- Android: notification taps now open the app, and battery drain from background GPS is fixed
- GPX imports handle large files without choking
- Fixes for stuck spinners, lost messages, and error states across the app
- Password reset error for some users fixed
Thanks to everyone who reported issues. Keep them coming.
