Been using this app for years and I love it. I do use the paid version since I use this app or their website for almost every trailer road trip we make. It helps me look for pay or free camping wherever I travel in the US and Canada. It has the ability to sort easily on the map what is private, public, forest service, BLM land, etc. It is a user-based app, so I read through most of the reviews to filter out what is important to me. By reading through the reviews, not only do I find good places to camp, but sometimes things to see/visit that I wasn’t aware of or things to be aware of getting to or at the campground. It is important to note that if someone is driving a van or motorhome type vehicle and makes a suggestion about the length of trailer that may or may not fit . . . They could be wrong. One needs to know their rig and their own ability of navigation. The developers of this app are also very responsive to any issues I might have with using the app or changes or updates I think feel need to be addressed regarding a location I have visited. I submit a request or suggestion and someone always gets back to me in a day or two.The bottomline is that the app is a User based program and is only as good as the people using it provide the info needed to make it work and become better. Obviously, everyone has their own opinion of what is good or bad, or how they choose to camp which is why I read through the reviews to try to get a good sense of the location I’m interested in and what works for me.

Wow, thank you so much for this incredibly thoughtful review! Hearing how you use the app — filtering by land type, digging into user reviews, discovering hidden gems along the way — is exactly what we built it for, and you clearly get the most out of it! You also made a really great point about knowing your own rig. That's such valuable advice for the whole community, and the kind of thoughtful, experienced perspective that makes our user reviews so much more useful for everyone. We're also thrilled to hear our support team has been responsive — we really do care about getting things right, and feedback from long-time users like you is a huge part of how we keep improving. Thank you for being such an amazing part of the Campendium community. Here's to many more adventures ahead!
Where to begin

If you like camping, or road trips, or even know what BLM land is, you need to have this. It’s that simple! Kind of want to camp out at what looks like a good enough spot to stop the RV on google earth? There’s probably pictures of it already on Campendium, along with whether it has cell coverage or not, and from which providers. And someone will likely have left a review saying which sizes of RVs could safely turn around down that other road you were looking at. Then take that location, open it in Apple or Google Maps or copy the GPS coordinates for further planning. My favorite anecdotes from the last year of using it all boil down to “a few reviews warned how bad this six miles of washboard road are, which would have deterred us otherwise, but they said it was worth it so we kept going and it WAS; or not knowing where to stay in an area and finding some unmarked hollow on the side of a mountain, unbelievably scenic but shockingly close to town. There’s so much out there other adventurous folks like you will help you find!Get Campendium, go outside, and stay there.
A Great Experience

We recently stayed at the RV Park after the National Park Campgrounds filled up. We can honestly say that it was a great experience staying at San-Suz-Ed. The new owners Jason & Katie (& family) made us fill right at home, and they are making improvements to the campground daily. We were sad to leave after 4 days, and would have loved to stay longer. The RV Park was full, but it never felt crowded and was always peaceful and quiet at night. We had fun sitting around the community campfire in the evenigs and sharing stories while our daughter made new friends. We definitely recommend this campground to anyone looking, and we will be back next year for sure. Some sites are back in, and others are pull through. We stayed in two sites, 17 & 24. Both sites were easy to get in and didn’t require much to level the trailer, a few block under the tires to help, this is the Mountains after all.
Godsend!

After a full tiring day of exploring Route 66 this campground was the last to be found in Texas until we would get to Tucumcari over an hour away. Weary and tired we were thrilled to have a place to stop. It’s just a big empty dirt lot with space dividers amongst some older buildings. Only one other traveler in the park at this time. Pets are welcome but we don’t have ours. We checked in by phone. Very easy process. Nice shower house. One shower, one toilet BuT two washers and two dryers. Price was $30 which we paid by dropping a check in the drop box. The owners were very available via telephone. Free wifi. Far enough off the road that it was a peaceful nights sleep. We would definitely plan to stay here again. No frills but exactly what we needed when we needed it!
