Get more out of your smart home. Your HomeKit and Matter devices can do more than on and off: Controller for HomeKit gives you dashboards you build yourself, workflows that run over several steps, months of history, and a floor plan you control directly.
YOUR OWN DASHBOARD
Your devices sit where you need them, instead of in a list.
- Views you compose yourself from tiles: per home, per person, and if you want, per device. One for the iPad on the wall, one for the iPhone in your pocket.
- More than 25 tile variants: devices, scenes, workflows, time, weather, calendar, charts, battery warnings.
- Five standard sizes, or drag your own size on the grid.
- Visibility conditions: a tile or a whole section appears only when you need it.
- Plus widgets for your Home Screen and a view of your own on Apple Watch.
CONTROLLER AI
Describe what you need in plain language: a dashboard, a scene, an automation or a workflow. Controller builds it, and you adjust it however you like afterwards.
MORE THAN A SCHEDULE
Two devices become a sequence that thinks along.
- Workflows: multiple steps, conditions and branches for sequences a single automation cannot express.
- Automations with advanced triggers and conditions.
- States: virtual switches that capture how your home currently stands and drive your workflows accordingly.
- Custom notifications for anything you want to know about.
- NFC tags: one tap and the workflow runs.
YOUR SENSORS ARE ALREADY MEASURING
Controller remembers the values and makes them readable.
- Charts: see how temperature, humidity or battery level develop over weeks and months, across every device and brand.
- Maintenance: which battery is empty, which device is unreachable, which automation is broken.
- Logs: every activity and every change, traceable.
- Smart folders: devices and automations grouped by filters you define.
- Floor Plan: scan your home with the LiDAR sensor of your iPhone or iPad and control your devices right on the plan.
- Controller Hub: a dedicated iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac runs your workflows automatically. Charts and States require Controller Hub.
SHARE THE WORK, NOT JUST THE SWITCHES
- Home Sharing: pass your entire setup to the people you live with. For each person you choose between the whole app or only the dashboards you share with them.
- Setup codes: your HomeKit and Matter codes stay safe in the app and never get lost.
- Backups: save your setup and restore it whenever you need to.

Update: In October of 2026 they reversed course and now include all of the Plus features, including Hub Mode with lifetime licenses. Thanks for doing the right thing! It really is a great app, and I can once again recommend it. If you want to unlock more features of you Apple smart home but are intimidated by Home Assistant, the Controller app is a must-have.I bought a lifetime license for this app less than a year ago after they announced their new Hub Mode because I had a specific use case for it. It was expensive, but I felt okay about it because it was a one-time cost. But now they are putting that very feature behind a paywall, and I feel very much ripped off. It is a good app and unlocks a lot of hidden capabilities of HomeKit, but the Hub Mode was the selling point, and they totally pulled the rug out from under it. I get that they don’t sell hardware and need to make their money somehow, but if you think the feature is worth more, raise the price of the lifetime license moving forward, don’t go back and gouge the people who already paid for it.
Developer Response
Since version 10, every lifetime license includes all Plus features, Hub included, with no subscription. Moving the Hub into Plus without a transition was a mistake, and we're sorry it took this long. Jan
The Best!

This app is the best HomeKit manager available. The Apple Home app is excellent for automations converted to Shortcuts, but beyond that, you have to have access to more power of the HomeKit API. This app is exactly that. Use it with Apple’s HomeKit and Home app. The ability to peg exact attributes of lights is, alone, worth the price. I can now peg exact matches for lights across scenes. Color Temp, Saturation, Hue, Brightness, and Power. Five attributes for every single device! Exact matches are easy. I will say that it take patience. When setting attributes, some times you wait a few to see it accept the result. No biggie. Just wait on it. Build your scenes EXACTLY as desired. Don’t try to replace the Home App. Use that and Shortcuts and Siri all you want. This app is for configuring stuff behind the scenes more than a front end. I nearly never write reviews. This is worth it. I bought the $65 Lifetime without hesitation. How many $40-$50 bulbs do you own…. Spend this and be thrilled with the access and power. I have only had it for a few days. Changed my HomeKit! I redid all scenes with exact accuracy. I am thrilled!UPDATE: I just installed the MAC app. No delay there, it appears! Fast to configure a scene with every attribute pegged. Fast. Better. Much faster (responsive) than the iPad app.

Thanks so much for the kind words! If you haven't seen it yet, version 10 lets you build your own Dashboards and share your setup with everyone at home. Jan
Change of Direction For The Better

Update: Software Version 10 has restored full access to all features and functions for “Lifetime” Subscribers after Software Version 8 throttled access to “Essentials” Only which excluded creation and maintenance of previously created workflows.Software Version 10 has a number of nice improvements and it was great being able to go back and update my custom workflows that I created prior to software version 8. Unfortunately, there is still the issue of having to have a dedicated iPhone or iPad plugged in and online all the time running the Controller Hub App that runs the Workflows. Should be able to run the workflows on the Internet and not have to tie up another physical device for the workflow executions. Notifications used to work great when called from Apple HomeKit Shortcuts but have stopped working in Software Version 10. Update:Looks like Apple IOS was the Culprit for HomeKit Controller “Notifications” (URL’s) Not Working in Real Time in Home app automation that have been converted into shortcuts. Apple: Since iOS 27, Home app automations that you've converted into shortcuts have opened URLs only when tested manually, not when running on their own. iOS 27.2 fixes this problem. Workflows running on a Controller Hub aren't affected. The software is really cool and helpful for Home Automation and has the potential for being a great companion app to Apple HomeKit. Enable Controller Workflows to run on the Internet and not a dedicated local device and you will have a Customer For Lifetime which BTW is what I paid for in the “Lifetime” Subscription.
Developer Response
You were right to push back. With version 10, lifetime licenses now include all Plus features, with nothing more to subscribe to. Update the app and it's unlocked. Jan
Expand Apple Home’s Capabilities
soccerman1930
This app is a great extension of Apple Home’s capabilities. It has allowed me to create more complex Automations with multiple conditions not possible just using the Apple Home app. The backup feature is also nice to have, especially if you have spent a lot of time customizing your setup. The recent addition of Workflows really ups the capabilities even further. I use an old iPad to run Workflows I have created using this app. What I like about the Workflows is that they run on the dedicated iPad, taking some load off of the Apple Home hub. The workflows allow If/then/else conditions, loops, and even more capabilities. All of these additional capabilities would not be valuable if the Workflows didn’t run reliably. But they do run reliably on my dedicated iPad! I have been using this app for years now and highly recommend it. It is the next logical step forward from the Apple Home app as your home’s setup expands. It doesn’t replace the Apple Home app, it complements it.
Developer Response
Thanks for the detailed review, that means a lot.Good to hear your old iPad runs the Workflows reliably - background execution is thepart we care most about. And "it complements Apple Home rather than replacing it" isexactly how we see the app ourselves. If you ever hit something or have an idea, just write tosupport@controller-for-homekit.com.Jan
