I’ve dealt with anxiety in various forms for over a decade, and have been frequently informed about the benefits of guided breathing. There’s a lot of research supporting this as a healthy habit, but I was never able to make it work on my own! I would find myself over-breathing, gasping for air, and getting even more anxious whenever I tried to practice a given exercise. Using Breath Ball has been my first successful experience with breathing exercises. I’m very happy to have found this app! I’d love to see some optional features that allow you to track your progress—maybe a log that records when you practice, or just an overall count somewhere of the total minutes you’ve done exercises for. I would definitely consider a pro subscription if it came with tracking features.

1st thing I look at in apps I’m considering is, how much my info are they collecting and sharing. Answer with BreathBall-none. 2nd, the developer makes it clear he is not a medical expert and suggests checking with Dr or therapist with any discomfort or questions. 3rd, he could sell the pro section and does ask that you buy it if you can afford it because some can’t. It is only $10 and he provides it free anyway. For me that all speaks to integrity and makes me more comfortable using it. Through the years I had heard of the “4:7:8” breathing to aid in sleep and it just didn’t work. With the explanation for why this works and great instructions, it is still a process and the more I use it, the easier it is to feel the changes bringing me closer to sleeping. Best app ever!

Came across this app while researching HRV and tried it out - Did not expect the massive change in stress levels, relaxation and improved sleep after using this - I have been using the Cardiac Coherence program twice daily for 28 consecutive days now and I cannot believe the positive impact it has had on my general well being and overall feeling. If you suffer from poor sleep, chronic tension, try this before medication. I have not slept this well in years.

I have fun making and trying my own breath work routines and have tried probably every app out there. This one gives you the most nuance while remaining simple and intuitive. The ability to speed up or slow down by five percent increments during an exercise is not something I’ve found elsewhere and is very useful. I love this simple yet effective program
Support for heart rate sensors that deliver heart rate only (instead of RR intervals) has been added.
Screen settings has been redesigned. Screen Pro has been merged with screen settings.
Charts on HRV details screen now show heart rate instead of RR intervals by default.

A bug that caused sporadic visual issues at the HRV chart has been fixed. (Thanks, Jim)
Duration of HRV recording is now calculated based on filtered heart rate/RR interval values, rather than on raw values.
On iOS devices that are configured to display bold text, the labels on the Y-axis on the HRV chart and HRV history chart are no longer truncated. (Thanks, Jim).
