The new style of Kamidana (household Shinto altar) is well-suited to the era. Offer thanks and pray every day, and cherish those around you.
In Japan, it was common to have a Shinto altar in the home for living a peaceful and blessed life. These altars were enshrined as guardians of essential places in daily life and played a role in valuing connections between people. Nowadays, smartphones have become a key aspect of our lives and relationships are increasingly online. So why not enshrine Kamidana on your mobile phone?
This application is based on the system of attracting and fulfilling desires through self-coaching, which is one of the customs of worshipping the Shinto altar.
With the Kamidana app, you can:
** Choose from various kamidana: You can select from a variety of kamidana that you prefer, including those that do not depend on a particular belief.
** Receive reminders for Osonae (offerings) exchange: The reminder function ensures that you won't forget to exchange offerings to the gods.
** Divine today's fortune: You can divine today's fortune in love, job, and money every day.
** Read today's quote: Quotes from historical figures and famous people are introduced. We choose encouraging words that can positively impact your life.
** Enshrine images: You can put images on the kamidana page. You can also put talismans and enshrine important items on Kamidana.
** Moon-waiting faith: You can track the waxing and waning of the moon.
** Customize worship messages: You can change the worship message as you like when exchanging offerings. Set a message that you want to ask yourself in the morning.
** Write wishes on Ema (votive horse tablet): You can write your wishes on Ema and set a deadline for achieving them, and the remaining days will be shown on the widget.
** Release daily annoyances: This function allows you to release your daily annoyances, evil passions, blame, and sin, and have a relaxing day.
** Express appreciation: "Wake up with hope in the morning, work hard in the noon, and fall asleep with appreciation at night." Express your gratitude and live a healthy and happy life.
The Kamidana app is a self-coaching application for living a better life through continuous use.

This app is great for anyone that loves anime, Japanese culture, or is interested in Shinto. It's a nice way to easily journal the positives of each day and release the negative. It's a great way to explore Shinto without fear of making mistakes or having to buy into the sacred items in real life before you know if it's right for you. My only critique is that the translated phrases need a little polishing! I'd also love to see more information about the different Kamidana types in the app. Any extra guidance on Shinto practice in general would be greatly appreciated!
Simplistic with intrusive and inappropriate Ads

A few basic and yet somehow confusing controls and settings. Random full screen pop up ads after exchanging offerings or fortunes/“whitty remarks” <- (can we get a better phrase like “quote of the day”?). I thought Shinto was about cleansing the spirit and honoring the Kami, not a shameless money grab. No instructions or education piece of the app to talk about Shintoism. No connection with specific orgs or shrine types for issuing a type of digital ofuda or any type of real connection to the Kami. The straw the broke the camel’s back for me was a banner ad for a christian association on my app. I can’t even pay to have the app completely ad free so I won’t be proselytized to by other religions! This is totally inappropriate and unacceptable. I’ve been using this app every day for years in spite of its simple interface and issues, but allowing adverts for other religions has killed this for me.
Overall great

I really like this app and I use it daily. However, I don't like that the developer keeps locking items either for paid users or by spending shide. The shrine fox gives you shide for visiting and I visit almost daily. I have been using this app every day for over three years and I only have 17 shide so I have no idea how long it would take to rack up 50 so you can buy the fox a temporary flower. Things like that take my enjoyment away a little. Other than that it is very cute and calming! It gives me a notification for something on the 23rd day but I can never read the full notification. I like the omamori too. Thank you!
I log on every day!

I absolutely love this app! Though I wish I could reread the negative thoughts I wrote. Right now, once you write and submit the negative thought you want to banish, you can't reread it. I also wish it would incorporate AI into it. For example, I wish I could talk to an AI-based Shinto priest. I would make the $80 payment just to support this app! I wish it was more popular so I know it won't go away! I looked on the website and found some information on the Shinto religion. I wish I could read these articles on the app. I'll even buy books through this app. It's one of the few Shinto apps on the market so I'd love it if I could fully learn and connect to the religion through the app. Finally, maybe redesign the app image to be more gender-neutral. Right now it's veering feminine with the lavender color. I'm a girl, and I identify as a woman, but I like gender-neutral things.
[Update Note]
- Added the "Coffee Dripper" to the Fox den items.
- Enhanced usability and user experience.
When do you find yourself opening the app during your day? Whether it’s part of your morning routine or a way to unwind when you’re tired, we’d love to hear about the special ways you use it!
