Fun With a Twist

This is a really fun game! Each cafe you open has a ton of levels that get gradually harder as you get better. It’s especially satisfying for those that like to click/touch obsessively - clears my mind! It’s a little different than other games in that, once you complete all of the levels, you’re not done with this game. You’ll notice additional lots to build on - these are released one by one as updates over time, so keep an eye out for their updates every month or two. Also, it’s worth clicking the ads at the bottom left in-between rounds for extra diamonds (they’re only about 5 seconds long and you can build up your diamonds easily if you do it a lot).My only complaint is that I wish I could create a new profile and start a new game. If I try to play through a cafe again it’s doable, but I’m not earning anything and just playing a random round. Otherwise, love it!

Got the game and loved it, but gradually the upgrades ended up being overwhelming. There’s no other way to get gems except for playing with a top score or watching ads. It’s fine, but ads are 30 seconds long and they only reward 1 gem which doesn’t do anything to help. Gaining 3 stars is difficult when you need to upgrade, but how do you upgrade? By using gems, but how to I get gems? By getting 3 stars. See the loop that some people are in? It’s annoying, yet understandable. I’d fix it by lowering the cost of gems per upgrade or increasing the amount players can get from watching ads. Better yet why not add a log in bonus for players who play daily? Since there’s way more cafes with items that need to be upgraded getting gems should be easier, like making an exchange that take coins for gems. Making each cafe have upgrades that need 30+ gems for a single machine is overwhelming. Another issue is the tutorial for each and every single recipe, why show the info graph on how to make it if the player will be forced to practice how to make the dish? It’s useless and annoying especially with so many different dishes the player has to learn by force. I say give an option where people can skip it, or at least make it go faster. The game is good but issues like this make people disinterested fast.

The pros are that the game itself is fun. There is enough variety in food choices and cafe’s to keep you interested. I like that you can customize your person to a degree. The decoration part isn’t explained well and although I upgraded nothing changed. The cons unfortunately are more than frustrating. I’m all for a game to be challenging. Even if that means grinding on one level until I get 3 stars on that level. What I don’t like is the upgrades needing so many diamonds and you only earn 1-3 diamonds per level IF you get all 3 stars only! I get that this is designed for you to spend money. You would have to in order to progress but I feel like I probably will just stop playing. It may not make sense but I will spend money on a game I enjoy that challenges me but doesn’t try to force me by frustration. It’s a shame because this could be enjoyable. The other huge issue is very glitchy controls. Sometimes you are making a dish and try to pick it up and it will take 3 tries to successfully grab it. Not great because levels are timed. The other issue is that you have to be careful how you grab ingredients or you will end up with an entirely different dish.

But I’m also really disappointed, because it feels like the game is set up to make you spend money instead of rewarding you for actually playing well.On level 30 in my second (or third) restaurant, I was just about to earn my third star. I still had 10 seconds left on the clock and was handing in my last order to collect my money — but suddenly the game just stopped and said the level was finished. The time didn’t run out — it just ended early. It really felt unfair, like it was designed to make me lose.I’ve even spent a little money on the game because I wanted to support it, but it didn’t make things any better. At this point, it honestly feels like you can’t move forward unless you keep paying.What makes me sad is that I would gladly pay if the game were more upfront about it. If the developers just charged a one-time price or even offered a fair subscription — something that made it clear you’re paying for a complete, balanced experience — I’d probably keep playing. It’s one of those games that could easily last for months, and I think people would happily pay for that.But as it is, I don’t feel respected as a player. It’s a shame, because Café Panic could be such a great, long-term favorite, but I don’t think I’ll keep playing if it stays like this
