Been playing this game a while now. Full of micro-transactions so really it’s pay-to-win. Ok I accept that to a point. However they send you daily specials that are supposed to be deeply discounted packages. One time deals for like .99 or 1.99. I have my Apple Card attached to my account and whenever there is a purchase in the game, the amount immediately pops up on what I purchased and the amount. SEVERAL times I have purchased a .99 or 1.99 item and been extremely overcharged. One time I bought a package for 2.99 and they charged 9.99 then you add tax. Another was .99 and charged 5.99 the add tax. I complained each time and they said that it would be reduced to the appropriate amount. I never followed up with it until yesterday. I was charged 5.99 for a package that was advertised for .99. I immediately wrote to them and their response is “not our fault it’s apple raising their prices.” Whatever! These are in-app transactions and apple has nothing to do with this. I looked back on my account and sure enough those overcharges were still there. I am turning them into apple for bait and switch pricing if they do not straighten this out.

In the beginning this game was plagued with all sorts of issues. Now it seems a lot of that has been handled and the game continues to get better. This is something to consider if your a pay to play type. Most of the apps out there are getting worse and this one seems to be getting better as tine goes on. One of the few that I have spent time and money on that the devs actually institute some of what the players are asking for into the game. When problems or glitches arise they tend to take care of the player which is also something hard to find in the many other options out there. Most of the server I’m in have been here for a couple years or a bit longer and there is a reason they have hung out that long. There is definitely strategy involved and all things have strengths and weaknesses that level the field even amongst the big beasts throughout. Many many options of setups can be used and you cant just buy your way to perfection. That’s huge for me, I want to play the game not pay to catch up and this game allows that. Prepare for a long experience because it will keep you interested!

I am writing this review as a veteran player. I have never experienced a game that has a bigger pay wall. The players who pay for carriers are so far beyond the players who don’t that it’s impossible to do anything other than roll over and play dead if you don’t spend money. This game and the developers are so ridiculously greedy that this game is not a pay to win game, it’s a pay to survive game. You literally will be spending money just to stop the larger players from destroying you constantly. Even during the events to “win” some of the best carriers in the game, you can be winning the carrier (after you have spent 3 or 4 hundred dollars) and in the last ten minutes, some player from China will swoop in and win out of nowhere. All of the servers are set up with the events times for Chinese time zones. There are no western servers so you are getting destroyed in the middle of the night if you live on the Western Hemisphere. Don’t even get me started about the developers inability to combat third party gold sellers. I reported a few guys who were buying gold through a third party and sent screenshots of them admitting they did it. Nothing was done. The devs said something was “abnormal” about those accounts and that’s it. The devs don’t care that third party gold dealers steal credit cards and identities to buy the gold because it means money for them. This game has so much potential, but if you can’t drop a couple hundred dollars a week, you won’t survive long enough to experience anything other than grief.
