I assume this latest update fixed some invisible problems but as is typical for a bunch of developers inside a windowless room, it misses the target again. Smart phones today are highly configurable so we can choose what sound we want for our default notifications. This new update has locked that sound to a doorbell plus a door opening or closing. It’s so cute but it’s not what customers want to hear. I’ve spent a great deal of time this week telling people that I can’t fix this (again this is not what they want to hear). The response has been such that it looks like I might end up having to change some of these systems over to an alternate interface board. I can’t understand why tech companies can develop such a good product and then ruin it with a poorly conceived app. Why not just give the customer the ability to make the choice.

This app works well. The interface is terrible though. It hasn’t even been updated for iPhone X (eg it looks like the old iPhone format within the screen) and that was two years ago. Also it does not make use of Face or Touch ID which makes it clunky for everyday use. Trying to cut and paste a secure password (it is an alarm system I wouldn’t use my dog’s name here) with the alarm blaring is less than ideal. All that said the functionality is good, it is just long overdue for a refresh.

I’ve been using this app with my Honeywell Vista system with the Connect2Go v4 interface. Right now I can see that my vacation home is alarmed, and I’ll get an alert if someone goes in or if the sump pump fails or anything else happens that my alarm system can pick up. Funny, I was going to ditch my old alarm system, but I’m extraordinarily happy I kept it because it is very comprehensive, reliable, and maintenance and administration-free 🙂Yeah, the UI isn’t so pretty, but it’s the functionality that’s the tops. Oh, and works great in my iPhone 11 under iOS 14.x

This app had NOT given any signs of trouble. After you get to know how the app works you’ll love it. I really like seeing the disarmed status. This allows you to see if there is movement in the house(if you have motion detectors). I can check my status and see if/when a zone was tripped to know when my family wakes up.Honestly flawless on my side. No recent updates, no pop ups/ads- (iphone8-I’ve had this app since July 2018).
