About Vēmos - ID Scan
As an intelligent scanner with a network effect, Vēmos ID Scan helps make responsible service a part of every shift. Download and go, and start scanning with confidence anywhere you check IDs. Vēmos quickly processes IDs and surfaces important information instantly so your team can move through scans faster and serve guests with confidence.
While anyone who requires identification checks with of-age products can use our scanner, we created this to provide critical information at the speed a busy night requires in the hospitality industry. Vēmos ID Scan automatically maintains a digital history of every scan with the ability to customize data retention, so the information you need is always within reach and within compliance when it matters most.
Fake ID Detection
Featuring Fake ID detection with DMV authentication, our Premium plan at $199/month delivers the most advanced level of verification. Submit a suspicious ID to validate against DMV records with additional backup enhanced forensics to check for deviations and counterfeits that don’t match with official issue data. If you scan an ID that has already been detected as a fake after being sent in for verification, you’ll be alerted immediately of that fake ID.
Next Level Security
The best security is being able to stop an incident before it happens. With Vēmos, you can manage your 86 list, create custom ban durations, maintain guest history, and receive alerts of nearby bans within your community that help your team stay informed.
Gain Insight & Build Connection
Go beyond verifying age. Recognize VIPs, add guest notes, and turn every scan into meaningful insights about the people who walk through your door.
Most ID scanners stop at age verification. Vēmos helps you go further and understand who's standing in front of you. Access your analytics to see the bigger picture with guest demographics, age ranges, visitor origins, and your breakdown of new vs returning guests.

I own a small distillery that does not have a taproom. Over the summer, we offered the option for our customers to order from us directly through our website for contactless deliveries. We needed a way to ensure that no one receiving our alcohol delivery was under the age of 21. We looked around for ID scanning apps and found Vēmos. TBH I was skeptical of all the app but gave it a shot. Super easy to use. My whole team had access and I could easily see when deliveries had been made since the app tracks when IDs are scanned. It could even scan through windows so we never came in contact with our customers! Since our need for the app was temporary, I contacted Vēmos customer support to let them know I wanted to cancel the subscription. They were very friendly and understanding of my businesses needs. If I ever need an app like this again, I will turn to Vēmos!
Great tool for our bar
Capo Bar
We have used this for a few months now and really love the city wide ban list. We will mark down whenever a guest doesn’t pay a tab and if they go to another venue that uses the app they will get flagged. We have actually had guests come back and pay their tab because of it!
Garbage since the last update
jezefuzz
The last update killed this app. It used to be great but now it just doesn’t work anymore— the ID scans take 4 or 5 times to actually go through (wasting my precious time and annoying customers), the interface is no longer user friendly for practical bar use (you have to click an extra button every time you want to scan an ID), and also now, you have to pay extra money for “premium” features for adjusting absolute basic settings (like turning the haptic sounds off?). Absolutely ridiculous, don’t waste your time until this app gets fixed.
Solid bar scanner
Michelmapp
We use this for our bar, and it has been very helpful. It’s been a huge help with keeping guests accountable for their actions with a city wide ban list and we have even had some come back and apologize for their actions. If you are looking to catch fake ids, use this with a blue light.
