WHAT TO EXPECT:
Rocky Mountain National Park boasts the very best of what Colorado and the Rocky Mountains has to offer: unbelievably scenic mountains, awesome hiking and superb wildlife viewing. But perhaps the most memorable aspect of the Park is that it was created with the driving visitor in mind.
Nowhere else in the country can you drive a scenic route that brings you above the treeline and into the alpine tundra for 11 miles, peaking at altitudes over 12,000 feet.
Or you may want to follow the historic route that the earliest visitors drove in their Stanley Steamer or Model T’s on the Old Fall River Road. There are many scenic viewpoints including Rainbow Curve Outlook and Mushroom Rocks Overlook along the driving route, and easy, accessible trails at Sprague and Bear Lakes.
Hear all about the “Father of Rocky Mountain National Park” and the other influential characters who fought and invested heavily to preserve this area.
The tour officially starts and ends close to each entrance of the Park; Beaver Meadows and Fall River from Estes Park, and Grand Lake from the West. Or you can join and pick up the commentary anywhere along the route. Narration will automatically trigger at the next commentary point.
The tour begins and ends on the drive to and from Rocky Mountain National Park, or join anywhere along the route.
Don't miss out on the best stops and stories. Enhance your Rocky Mountain National Park experience with our audio driving tours.
CHARGING:
++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charge to keep your phone charged, and avoid charging through the USB port.
AUDIO:
Listen directly from your phone or connect to the car stereo via Bluetooth. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle as this can cause audio issues. The audio can play through your car’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto display, please note that the map will display only on your phone.
IPADS:
** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note only the iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular models of iPad contain a GPS chip. Wi-Fi-only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically.
DOWNLOADING:
The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must download the app ahead of time over Wi-Fi (recommended) or cellular data. Once downloaded, you can tour offline without cell service.

This was my first trip to Colorado and to the National Park. I loved that the app automatically narrated as we approached each notable area. I also appreciated that as we drove to Bear Lake then back out that same way, the narration told us different info at the same points of interest. It does that through the entire park. So if you drive from one end to the other, then back that way again, you get even more information! The narrator’s voice is perfect as well as the humor. Entirely family friendly. We had a GoPro camera attached to the windshield and recording our entire drive through the park. It was so cool to watch our video and clearly hear the narration once we got home. This is not only a great accompaniment while in the park but helped us create a wonderful keepsake for years to come. We will definitely use this app for future tours! Great job!

I’ve had an iPhone since their release and this is the first review I’ve feeler compelled to write. A friend recommended the app and I was a bit doubtful at first due to the number of free apps out there. Wow, was this app amazing. It was like having a personal tour guide! Not only did it run off of GPS when there was no reception, gave us directions before turns with options on which way went where, but also had all sorts of insightful information along the trip. To top it off it was a very calming voice while driving around precarious roads, and the sense of humor was appreciated. Well done and looking forward to more adventures with Gypse

We started using Gypsy Guide out in Yosemite and now will not go anywhere without it. The information is spot on VALUABLE to let you know everything you need while driving the National Parks. The information about the history of the park is so fascinating! The only thing I would like and it may be out there is information BEFORE you plan your trip like times to enter and leave the park due to crowds. What is the best things to see and do while in the park. All that information is in Gypsy, just it plays while you are already in the park or going in to the park so it is kind of too late. THIS APP IS A MUST TO NAVIGATE THE NATIONAL PARKS!

Great tour guide

This was well worth the money! It was like having our own personal tour guide! We enjoyed the points of interest that were told to us as we drove through the park. We were given options when we would get to a turn in the road. He has a nice soothing voice. We couldn’t get it to go through our car usb on the iPhone so just listen with the speaker on the phone. My battery kept getting low so would have to plug in while he wasn’t talking. Was sad when the tour came to an end but will diffidently use gypsy guide when going through other National Parks. We will tell all our friends! Thanks!
