Datatool is a Thatcham insurance industry approved GPS/GLONASS/GSM based tracking and theft notification service designed specifically for scooters and motorcycles but now with Journey History and G-Sense impact detection.
Datatool activates automatically as soon as the ignition is switched off and monitors the bike for signs of unauthorised movement. If movement is detected without the ignition being switched on and the bike is moved away from where it was parked, Datatool will enter full alert mode and notification will be sent to the dedicated 24/7/365 Datatool Monitoring Team.
In the event of a suspected theft, the Datatool Monitoring Team will contact the owner immediately and if a theft is confirmed, will liaise with the Police on the owner’s behalf to aid recovery.
The Datatool app allows owners to view the location of their vehicle(s), view journey history, enable the G-Sense alert crash detection, manage account details and communicate directly with the Datatool Monitoring Team.

What's new
- The vehicle list and vehicle details screens have a refreshed design: your vehicle's photo, its current status at a glance, quick View and Trips buttons, MOT and tax dates, and a small map showing where the vehicle is.
- You can now add your own photo of your vehicle: the background is removed for you and the picture appears on the vehicle card, where you can replace or remove it at any time.
- You can tint the vehicle card to match your vehicle's colour and switch it between a light and a dark look.
- A short tour introduces the new vehicle photos and colours the first time you open the card, and you can replay it any time from App Settings.
- You can now change the app's language from Account Settings instead of going to your phone's Settings, and your choice is saved to your account so emails and notifications follow it too.
- Defender alarm owners can now see the alarm's wireless devices and its alarm history from the app.
- You can share or save your Defender alarm history as a file, for example to send it on to support.
- You can now see the app version at the bottom of the Settings screen.
Bug fixes
- The Defender alarm screen no longer shows an immobiliser control that doesn't apply to it.
