I have been using Bitdefender for a couple of years now and this latest product does not disappoint. I have it installed on three of my own devices along with a couple of my family’s devices and we have had no problems at all. First, I feel that the security scan for viruses is great. It is thorough, regularly updated and barely noticeable running in the background. There is very little memory usage and does not impact how my MacBook Pro, iPhone or iPad run. The family has nearly equal amounts of devices and they have not had any noticeable drag in their performance. The unlimited VPN for both your laptop and mobile devices is very helpful. I travel frequently and do now want to use the unsecured open access that is provided in many places so I make sure the VPN is on as soon as a connection is made. It is also configureable to not be in use on known networks. The program also has very good built in ransomeware and phishing protection. It also helps to determine where you may have compromised user ID information and passwords by running scans for you on ID’s you use. Although I don’t use it, there are also parental controls that can be configured for younger family members. All in all, you cannot go wrong with this security product. It does everything you need and is thorough without being memory or CPU intensive. Definitely one you should try out for yourself.
Had big hopes for this but?????
DJSFO
Bought a new Netgear Orbi 6 Wi-Fi router and Bitdefender came with it for one year. Very buggy app, parts don’t work, Even website instruction English is incomplete and can’t understand what they’re saying, the worst Technical Support I’ve ever had in my life by phone, chat, email it’s all bad. They appear to be in India and talk so fast I can’t understand them either. They don’t understand English and when I ask A question I get an answer for something else but what I asked about. The bit defender app is very buggy and I don’t see them doing anything about fixing the bugs?? Instructions for setting up bit defender or nonexistent except if you want to spend hours in days trying to look on the web, which I don’t have that time. Probably going to end up uninstalling at all. Update…. Updated my iPhone to iOS 15.1 after talking to technical support stating that there would be no issues. That wasn’t true, the software update caused Orbi app to block all my devices but one. Then created a second device for my cell phone calling it Network and not allowing me to have bitdefender on my cell phone?? Then it took three days to try and delete the old iPhone device which wasn’t working anyway but not allowing the new device to be download with bitdefender protected which still is the case today??
Terrible security service it tries to block basically everything
retro surfer
This security app is horrible, it’s probably safe because it considers basically everything spam and a threat. Honestly if I wanted that I could just unplug the Internet and that would not cost me $100. Honestly it make using the Internet impossible I get dozens of threat notices a day and some of the sites it tries to block are ridiculous! It tried to block NBC News, Apple News, All Recipes, every game off the Apple site and most everything else. And if you unblock these it tanks your security rating. I started out at 89% secure. After a week I’m at 60% and weak all because God forbid we tried to use the Internet. Honestly I love the Orbi Mesh network but this security app Armor is just buggy and almost impossible to use. Sad that a trusted company like Netgear bundles this poorly designed security app with there hardware.
Interferes with connection
Xmas Edition
Installed on iPhones: 8Plus and 12Pro. I knew this app would keep an eye on our surfing. Every time my husband would read his sports apps it would "block malicious" sites. Always centered on an add on a page. He always ignored them anyway. Would also block spam. Never figured those out. But the biggest problem was that the VPN it creates (that you can't turn off) was problematic. Admittedly it slowed the internet. A lot. Because it worked so hard to keep us "safe". The last straw was when it tried to direct us from the 2K or 5K connections to our wireless router, depending on traffic. Supposedly you would choose the main connection in your settings and the app would decide where to direct you. This was a disaster! Our connections would stutter and stall and completely freeze. We had to manually change our WiFi setting back and forth between 2K and 5K to reconnect to the internet, constantly. Total pain. We decided we really didn't need the VPN or traffic help at the cost of no internet. Uninstalled and we're back to normal speed with no stutter and dropped connections.
This update brings important bug fixes and interface optimizations to enhance your in-app experience. Update now for improved performance and reliability!
