Since the update, none of my themes or balls are unlocking and seem to be frozen on my old scores. For example, there is a theme that unlocks once you score 1,000,000 points in a game. I have done that several times (with a couple of screenshots as proof) with no unlock. As other reviewers have stated as well, the ads are ridiculous. I do not spend money in mobile games, so I expect some ads, but ads every time an action is taken is a bit too much. If you win, there is an ad. If you lose, there is an ad. If you want more stars, there is an ad. There is even an ad at the bottom of the screen, which will mess you up if you accidentally click on it while adjusting your inaccurate cannon. I will change my rating if you fix the unlocking issue. If I complete the requirement for the theme or ball, I expect the theme or ball to unlock. This game has potential, but it is being wasted. That is truly a shame...**EDIT**: They finally fixed the issue with the themes and balls not unlocking! As that was my only issue, my rating has now changed to reflect that. I will mention again, it still has many ads(and I swear the cannon still seems a bit inaccurate), but at least you earn the themes/balls again 🤷🏽‍♀️

Nonstop Balls? #ThatsWhatSheSaid! Sorry, couldn't resist. But seriously:Nonstop Balls is a relatively simple shooter concept that marries the "Breakout" video game with aspects of Pachinko, Pinball and a rapid fire BB gun. The $2.99 USD "Remove Ads" purchase doesn't completely remove ads, but the banner and involuntary pop ups will be gone. You can still watch optional adverts to either continue your current game or earn 20 stars towards upgrades. IMHO the "Remove Ads" purchase is a worthy one since you can deal with ads on your own volition, and other "pay to win" options that are present in a multitude of similar mobile shooters is completely absent in this game. I personally found myself voluntarily watching an ad here and there if it afforded me the next upgrade or I simply felt like continuing the current level. The incremental upgrades feel like you are progressing in firepower without immediately feeling OP. You can also earn upgrade stars through the optional, and increasingly challenging puzzle style challenges. Your upgrades will not apply in the challenges you will have to plan, think and re-think your plan of attack you want to get past these challenge levels successfully.If you want to feel OP however, the in-game power ups like Freeze (which temporarily halts the screen), Rapid Fire and Power Balls will feel "godlike" level of OP if you are lucky enough to hit them and can save you from almost inevitable demise if the timing and RNG are in your favor.The bottom line is to download, install and play "Nonstop Balls" game if you are a fan of the "endless shooter" genre. IMHO Nonstop Balls is addictive and fun.

UPDATE: they fixed a few of the problems I was having. Levels are easier to progress to now that my upgrades are working. The French problem is fixed. I’m moving up to 3 star review now. I would go to 4, but now the mute button doesn’t work. I only play this game while I listen to my audiobooks. Without mute, I can’t play. I hope it’s fixed soon! And maybe this time they will make it so I don’t have to hit mute every time I open the app. 🤞UPDATE: I just updated to the latest version and now my game is in French! Ugh! I love the concept, but the game need a lot of work! There should be more boosts to allow longer game play. There should be options to watch videos for extra “continues,” and a lot less ads during regular game play. Make it optional for boosts so players don’t get frustrated and quit like I do 20 times per day. Also, the themes are virtually impossible because you can’t get that high of a score with how the game is currently set up. And the levels should start much easier and work their way up to such hard levels to help player confidence. I believe that once these things happen then this will be a super popular game! I will give it 5 stars once there are some updates.

I’ve enjoyed this game since it first was released. I paid to remove the ads. I appreciate that they’ve updated the game adding new challenges, block types, etc. But this most recent update clearly demonstrates that they are just squeezing the player for more money. They added larger blocks that are harder to break, but gave a (slightly) higher reward. As the large block would come on the screen, there was always a power up on the board behind it. Part of the strategy was to get the power up to break the mega block. With this most recent update the power ups are now locked inside blocks they need to be broken as well. This puts the player at a significant disadvantage, making it now really impossible to beat any previous high scores, without paying to power up the balls. Even then, they increase the strength of the blocks commensurately and it is very difficult to top one’s previous high score. And in a game where there is nothing other than score chase, it is incredibly frustrating to have updates that penalize the player and make success increasingly difficult. Have uninstalled and will not be supporting any further apps from this developer based on their behavior.
