Center is a silent meditation timer for serious practice.
No guides, no voices, no lessons, and no music. Center exists for people who already know why they meditate and want a calm, precise tool to support long-term practice.
Start a session in one tap. Practice in silence or with simple bells. Customize session lengths, intervals, sounds, and themes to match your ritual.

‘Nuff said. The end timer doesn’t sound anymore until I am distracted from my zazen by my awareness that the timer should have sounded and I end my session and unlock my phone and press end, myself. Then it tells me I’m done. Most recent fix says it fixed this bug 10 months ago. Temporary fix, I guess. Two months in to using this app and now I have to delete it and find another one. Too bad because this app WAS perfect.
Doesn't work on silent mode

This app is EXACTLY what I wanted for meditating. No, subscription plans, no guided lessons, and no frills. Just a timer and a logger. The only major gripe I have is the app doesn't work on silent mode. The starting gong sound doesn't play in silent mode, and the ending gong never goes off. The app is only usable in ringer on mode with do no disturb turned off in order to hear the notification sound. If you have your phone automatically go to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity, your phone will go to sleep during the timer. When the timer goes off, you'll get a classic iOS notification sound rather than the gong. I usually put my phone on do not disturb or silent mode when Imeditate so I don't get distracted by notifications but this app doesn't let me do that. There is a "screen sleep" setting, but the app does not allow me to change it for some reason.
This app had one job

I guess I never knew what a habit of pressing my lock screen button I have. This app has only been useful to me the one or two times I forget to press the home lock button before I start meditating. If I do press it on accident there is no warning but the meditation timer turns off it will not alert me when meditation time is over. This makes the timer completely useless when you do this, as I cannot figure out how to make it work while on the lock screen. And today it turned off on its own, without me even touching the button! There seems to be a button to fix this but I can’t click it. You have one job timer! Everything else? Just right. Thank you for the effort, it’s almost there, but it’s simply useless when this happens hence one star.
It used to be more simple and delightful

Recently this app added a lot of features that I don’t care for but are impossible to avoid. It’s cluttered the app significantly. What actually upsets me the most however is that the chimes now sound terrible. It used to be that the sound of the three chimes at the end of the meditation were overlaid and allowed to resonate however with the recent update each chime prematurely stops the previous chime’s resonance which results in a very artificial sound and experience at the end of the meditation. I think I’ll just go find an app for reminders + sounds at this point.
This update brings more reliable meditation sessions and many improvements to everyday use:
- Open session duration directly from the timer screen, while the left button still opens your overview.
- Fixed completion alerts using the wrong sound when the screen is off.
- Added clearer guidance for enabling screen-off sounds when alarm permission is disabled.
- Fixed an issue that could interrupt an active session when returning to the timer view.
- Improved reminder scheduling and cancellation to prevent outdated or unwanted alerts.
- Improved Apple Watch session syncing to address missing and duplicate history entries.
- Fixed saving an existing custom duration without first changing the picker.
- Improved session history: add a session even when your history is empty, with better handling of save and deletion errors.
- Protected unsaved session entries from accidental swipe dismissal.
- Added a retry option when session history cannot load at startup.
- Refined settings search with a theme-colored highlight and improved focus behavior on Mac.
- Added donation history so you can review your past support.
- Added a convenient way to share Center with someone who could use a quiet moment.
Thank you for making Center part of your practice.
