I’d like to preface this by saying that I’m Bipolar and, even though I’m medicated, I am prone to mood swings. Part of managing my condition involves keeping track of my moods and how they trend. Increased positive moods may indicate that I’m slipping into a Manic phase while decreased moods might indicate me slipping into depression. I tried several apps before, but I found it hard to keep up with them. I’d get really excited at first, but then eventually forget to check in or lose motivation to continue using it. Even though I’d set reminders, I’d often ignore them entirely, with opening my phone and scrolling through the app feeling like an insurmountable struggle during my bad days. Then I found Moodistory. It’s simple, and clean, akin to the more well-known mood tracking app Daylio. You have your mood scale, and can attach different events, and notes in order to help you keep track of your moods. Most Mood tracking apps have some variation of these features. What they don’t have however is Apple Watch support. Seems mundane enough, but this feature has been a HUGE help. Instead of having to pull my phone out in order to report my moods/mental state, I can simply tap on my watch, then pick my mood and any related events. I almost always have my watch on me, so I can even report my moods when shopping or at work. It’s simple, and I love it so much. Right now, I’ve been able to keep up with my mood for almost two months. Thanks to Moodistory I’ve become better at tracking my mood swings which has made it easier to manage them. My only real negative is the small number of icons for events, but being able to use the default apple emojis as icons has helped remedy that problem somewhat. Other than that, the app is incredible and deserves to be far more popular. You can really tell that the developer is passionate about working on it.

If you are like me which I have a couple of mental health illness or you just like to keep track of your mood, this app is for you. So you can choose colors that match your mood or you can create your own color themes. Then you can rate your mood from happy to sad/ depressed, numbers 6-1 and change the levels of number from 2 to 11. Then you can keep track of what you drink, eat, fun things you did that day, health that has to do with physical or mental, things you did on your free time, misc, occasions you gone or went to, social events you have had that day, sports you did, weather and work. My only problem with this app is that I can’t edit/add certain things/specific things I ate or I did. Which is not as big as a problem than not having an app to track anything at all. If you wanted to add anything else you can add at least one place you have been to, add a photo from your photo library of the day or add notes and thoughts you have had of the day. What I like most about the app is that if you miss any days you can go back and track your mental health. Or if you are not good at remembering like I am you can set a reminder for whenever you want to be reminded.

Thank you so much for your feedback and sharing your experience with Moodistory. Since you said that you can’t edit/add certain things/specific things you ate or did: You already can add/edit/delete the events/activities list within Moodistory: Open 'Menu & Settings' > 'Events List & Categories'. We hope this is what you were looking for. If you have any further questions or feedback, you are very welcome leaving a message at hello@moodistory.com. All the best!
Amazing at what it’s for

This app does an amazing job helping you keep track of general mood and events in your life. I love the ability to look back and see how my mood trends depending on work, relationships, seasons, or activities I’ve been doing. Really shows a direct correlation sometimes and makes you take something things with more mindfulness cause you’re stopping to actually log that the walk in the walk was very nice. The UI is extremely satisfying and pleasant to use. I’d say after a week you can maneuver like a pro. There are many Apple Watch options as well with reminders that means you never really have to ever open your phone to make a good entry. It’s seems to grow and develop as an app. Hundreds of ways to filter your results and narrow down some of the outlier events. Can even be used as a goal tracker. “How many times did I meditate this month. Oh I meditate 26 times and the days I did I can a noticeable mood change.” Very beneficial app that takes little to no storage.

Updating on June 10th: as someone with ADHD, I’ve never consistently kept up a habit. This is the first thing in recent memory that I have done consistently for almost 6 months! The latest I’ve ever added an entry was literally the next day. And when I’ve awakened to see that my reminder notification is still there, I feel so weird like, omg I forgot to track my mood last night! Anyway, still loving this app!I started using Moodistory on January 2nd, and I’m so glad I’ve formed this habit. I have found myself kind of checking in periodically through the day since I know I’m going to reflect at the end of the day & it is helping me so much. I try to be honest with myself (avoid toxic positivity) and also focus on what makes me feel gratitude. I use the free version & I’m super happy with it.

Awesome to hear! 😊 Thank you so much for sharing your experience. All the best!
Moodistory can now connect with Apple Health to automatically uncover additional factors that may influence your mood. These factors include:
+) Sleep
+) Time in Daylight
+) Exercise Minutes
+) Steps
+) Active Energy
You can now easily see whether - and how - things like getting enough sleep affect your mood.
But give it a try yourself! You'll find it in the analytics section at the very bottom.
We're really excited to make this much-requested feature finally available!
And that still holds true: Your feedback matters!
Suggestions and criticism are always warmly welcome – the easiest way to reach us is via hello@moodistory.com
Thank you!
