Mileage & Car Tracker - Magica
Private Auto Trip & Fuel Log
Free · In‑App Purchases
Track every drive automatically, keep 100% of your data on your iPhone, and export IRS-ready reports at tax time. One private app for your whole car.
Magica — Automatic Mileage Tracker & Complete Car Companion. It records every drive on its own, looks after your whole vehicle, and keeps 100% of your data on your iPhone.
Magica turns your iPhone into a mileage tracker that also handles the rest of your car: fuel and EV charging, maintenance, deadlines, costs. One app, not three — and everything stays on your device.
RECORDS EVERY DRIVE ON ITS OWN
Forget manual logs. Magica detects your drives automatically and records distance, route, cost, tolls and more. Classify each trip with a single swipe — Work, Personal, or your own categories.
- Automatic detection via motion and Bluetooth — no constant GPS drain
- Auto Switch: Magica recognizes which vehicle you're driving
- Merge split trips back into one clean route
- CarPlay, voice actions and Shortcuts to log on the go
- Instant PDF & CSV export
TURN MILES INTO IRS DEDUCTIONS
Every business mile is money back. Magica separates business from personal automatically and builds IRS-compliant mileage logs your accountant can use for Schedule C, 1099 or reimbursements — based on the current IRS standard mileage rate.
- IRS-ready reports, exportable as PDF or CSV
- Custom categories with deductible percentages
- Cost-per-mile and expense totals always up to date
MANAGES YOUR WHOLE VEHICLE
Beyond mileage, Magica is a full car companion.
- Fuel and EV charging log with automatic consumption and cost
- Worldwide charging-station map
- Maintenance history and reminders for insurance, registration, inspection, oil changes
- Unlimited garage: cars, motorcycles, scooters, vans — as many vehicles as you own
- Find My Car, toll tracking, weather per trip, Baby-on-board alert
- Widgets, Live Activities and Dynamic Island
YOUR DATA IS TRULY YOURS
Magica has no cloud and no account. Everything lives on your iPhone — nothing synced to a company, nothing mined. And your data stays usable: export it for your accountant, or connect it to your favorite AI or CRM through the built-in API and MCP server, entirely on your terms.
MADE BY ONE PERSON, SINCE 2018
I'm Dimitri. I've built and looked after Magica on my own since 2018, kept it updated with every version of iOS, and I answer every support email myself. A lot of what's inside was asked for by someone who wrote to me — Magica grows with the people who use it. Featured by Apple: Apps We Love, App of the Week, Made in Italy.
WHO IT'S FOR
- Self-employed, 1099 and small-business drivers maximizing deductions
- Sales reps and contractors billing mileage reimbursements
- Rideshare and delivery drivers tracking every business mile
- Anyone who wants their car's whole life — trips, costs, upkeep — in one private place

more This app looks amazing and is feature packed at a great price. I have been testing it against mileIQ and Everlance as I have recently started a new job with a lot more business mileage and needed an app to help me track those work related miles. Magica is a much better price but could improve a little bit in the ease of classification of trips to be more like Everlance and MileIQ’s swipe to classify feature. I emailed the app creator and gave him my thoughts. He was amazingly responsive, asked some questions to better understand my feedback and immediately went about trying to develop some improvements based on some of that feedback. I’ll continue to use Magica and hope to see the improvements in convenient trip classification soon! Thanks Dimitri for making this app and trying to meet the needs of your customers!
Developer Response Hi! Thank you so much for this amazing review and feedback! I’m happy you like Magica and I continue to work to create the best Mileage Tracker app! You requests are in beta testing right now and I will release soon! 🙏 Write me at the support for any needs!

I haven’t found a mileage tracking app as well designed and as polished as this one. Huge thank you to the developer. There is one problem though, when using CarPlay, it seems to force an active trip no matter how many times I try to enable manual mode. Otherwise, it’s fantastic. I like the LiveActivites integration and detailed trip screens, they are very nice touches
Developer Response Thank you very much! I’m very happy to hear that!I’m working on the bug and will be fixed in next release, thanks! If you have any other feedback you can write me on support@magica-app.com.Thank you again!

This is the only mileage tracker that works with EVs. The refill/recharge supports EV charging so you can track easily when you need to recharge again. The reporting is very clear, supports maintenance records and multiple vehicles.

Always-on GPS. I have automated tracking on when I connect to Bluetooth, so the app should not be tracking my movement when it’s not connected to my car. It’s almost always reporting my location—privacy issues aside, this is a massive drain on the battery. There is no reason it should be requesting my location, yet it is. I purchased this app because it seemed well-suited for my purposes but I cannot recommend this app.
Developer Response Hi, thank you for taking the time to share your experience — I understand your concerns about privacy and battery usage.Unfortunately, due to a long-standing iOS limitation, apps that rely on automatic Bluetooth audio detection must keep location services enabled. This behavior is imposed by Apple, and all apps on the App Store that offer similar functionality work in the same way, even when the car is not connected. That said, if you use a Bluetooth BLE device instead, Magica can automatically stop location services when you’re not driving, which significantly reduces tracking and battery impact. We take battery optimization very seriously: Magica has been actively maintained for over 8 years and is designed to minimize consumption as much as iOS allows. If you’d like help configuring the app in the best way for your setup, or if you have further questions, please feel free to contact us via the support email — we’ll be happy to help.
