This app has been a huge help in our home where three+ kids need to practice spelling words daily. Though they have hand-written homework to practice their words, I’ve found that the games and repeated practice opportunities on this app are much more engaging and effective at helping my kiddos learn their words. They actually WANT to practice spelling on here and can do it relatively independently. The only difficulty is that the app seems to be glitchy across different platforms (can’t highlight words on the word search or type letters, etc., rendering the app useless). It works almost seamlessly on my iPhone but doesn’t always work well on our various iPad models, one of which is a newer one. I’d love for these glitches to be fixed because I haven’t found another app that tops this one!

I downloaded this app in preparation of my citywide spelling bee and I found it really helpful. I really enjoyed how the app provides multiple ways to study. However, the reason why I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because when you are writing your list of words, and you accidentally press enter to start a new word without finishing the first one, you can’t go back to other words, so you’ll have to delete it and start a new list all over again. This has happened several times and is quite frustrating. Other than that this app is tremendously helpful whether you’re preparing for spelling bee or just trying to improve your spelling overall. Please fix the typing issue.

Thanks for the review. We will look into ways to improve the spelling word entry process. In the meantime, you can swipe left on a word in your spelling list to delete it. There's no need to start a new list.
Great app—wish there was a handwritten spelling option!

This is a great app!! I wish there was also an option or capability for the iPad that allowed kids to physically hand write spelling words so it simulates how they do spelling tests in school. Kids have to print or write out words on their school tests, so it would be a helpful thing for something that uses hand writing recognition to let kids to use an Apple Pencil to actually physically write their words down in addition to the other options you can do on this app.

I don’t think I’ve left reviews on apps but this was a game changer for homework and studying. My daughter is in second grade and she gets 20 words to study each week for spelling test. Writing them out 3 times every night was not productive and definitely a drag for her. I love this app gives you options with spelling list. Word search, missing letter and the big one the flash cards with the pronunciation! Sometimes she forgets a word and is still navigating reading! Recommend for parents who want learning to be more fun and effective . There is also word unscramble and other options
