Add a profile for everyone practicing. Each one keeps their own lists, their own progress, and their own practice history, so everybody sees only their own words.

This app has been a huge help in our home where three+ kids need to practice spelling words daily. Though they have hand-written homework to practice their words, I’ve found that the games and repeated practice opportunities on this app are much more engaging and effective at helping my kiddos learn their words. They actually WANT to practice spelling on here and can do it relatively independently. The only difficulty is that the app seems to be glitchy across different platforms (can’t highlight words on the word search or type letters, etc., rendering the app useless). It works almost seamlessly on my iPhone but doesn’t always work well on our various iPad models, one of which is a newer one. I’d love for these glitches to be fixed because I haven’t found another app that tops this one!

I downloaded this app in preparation of my citywide spelling bee and I found it really helpful. I really enjoyed how the app provides multiple ways to study. However, the reason why I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because when you are writing your list of words, and you accidentally press enter to start a new word without finishing the first one, you can’t go back to other words, so you’ll have to delete it and start a new list all over again. This has happened several times and is quite frustrating. Other than that this app is tremendously helpful whether you’re preparing for spelling bee or just trying to improve your spelling overall. Please fix the typing issue.

Thanks for the review. We will look into ways to improve the spelling word entry process. In the meantime, you can swipe left on a word in your spelling list to delete it. There's no need to start a new list.

I do love this app. My favorite feature is that you can copy and paste the words along with their definitions once and it splits them up individually. The only suggestions I would offer is a way to test then practice only the words that were incorrect. I also would like to be able to prevent a student profile the ability to add or remove words or other spelling lists that I the account holder have added or removed. This app is very easy to use and is a nice change compared to writing each incorrect word 5 times each. I have definitely recommended this app and will continue to do so with or without the suggested update.

This is a great app!! I wish there was also an option or capability for the iPad that allowed kids to physically hand write spelling words so it simulates how they do spelling tests in school. Kids have to print or write out words on their school tests, so it would be a helpful thing for something that uses hand writing recognition to let kids to use an Apple Pencil to actually physically write their words down in addition to the other options you can do on this app.
Spell It is made for iPhone Duo. Unfold it and every activity splits across both screens: the word on one side, the buttons on the other, and nothing on the fold.
Also in this update:
• On iPhone Duo and iPad, your lists stay beside the one you have open, so switching lists takes one tap.
• Fold or unfold in the middle of a word and Spell It keeps the letters you’ve typed.
• Long words in Word Scramble no longer get cut off.
• Word Scramble and Word Search check the letters they mix in, so a puzzle never spells out a word it shouldn’t.
• If you sign in with Apple or Google, Spell It no longer offers to change a password you never set. And if a password change doesn’t go through, Spell It tells you why.
