I love this idea but the app clearly has a long way to go. It misidentified my tiny chihuahua as a German Shepherd. It misidentified my Border Collie as a Springer Spaniel and it said “sorry...” for my full blooded Australian Shepherd, which has won awards for breed standard. We tried several mixed breeds as well and nothing close. We tried different poses, different lighting, etc. This actually does a disservice to people who don’t know their breeds well. If, for example, they are looking at a shelter dog or rescue dog and this app misidentified the dog, it could lead someone adopting a dog they can’t handle. At the very least, it could lead to embarrassment when they tell others what breed they think it is. Go back to the drawing board because it’s a great idea!

This app is great. It works like it supposed too and I understand it’s not a puppy dna test is guess based on probability.

Wouldn’t accept any of my pictures except my sister’s old English sheepdog as a Shih Tzu. Wish I wouldn’t have downloaded this app at this stage. Great in theory now it just needs substance. Disappointing they put it out too soon.

I have 2 mixed breed dogs so it obviously said “sorry” for both of them. But when had someone look up gold retriever just to test it, it still said “sorry”😑. I’m no dog expert but I am good at identifying many dog breeds. So here’s some advice, this is so much more than just coat color and facial features; it’s also temperament, body build, and overall dog size too. If I were you, I’d be sure that this app can tell the difference between a chihuahua and a Great Dane.For temperament, add a video option for how the dog acts in its true state. Upload many different angles of every breed, different body builds, skull shapes, and all colors that any breeds come in. For example, the bull terrier (Target dog) has a very unique skull shape, it has no indentions. They also are the only breed with triangular shaped eyes. Other examples, the German Shepherd and Belgian Malinios are easily confused because they very similar. The malinios is smaller, leaner, darker, and less fluffy than the shepherd. Chihuahuas have and apple shaped head. The pitbull terrier (my personal favorite breed) is naturally a very friendly dog when raised in the right environment& comes in almost every cost color and pattern, most often blue, brindle, lilac, and fawn. They are great with ppl and children, but they are always the best with other dogs. They have a large chiseled head and lean, muscular bodies and come in different builds too. Pugs come in beige with a black face or solid black. Dachshunds (wiener dogs) have short legs, a long back and snout, and large ears. Most common pattern is the classic black & tan. They come in short, long, and wirehair. I think u get my point lol. Check out all the specs on very breed you want to upload or ask a dog trainer/expert about any questions you may have. Again, this is a great idea but it needs lots of work. I would also recommend adding a list of breeds it can identify and maybe a short paragraph about each.
