Came back to the Frog system after doing other chemicals for many years. The Frog system is greatly improved and their app is fantastic. Their customer service has been phenomenal on the phone when I called I highly recommend this product for people who want to have a easy to take care of water, testing, and treatment for their hot tub.
Used to be helpful now it’s useless
AquarianProblems
This used to be a super helpful app for balancing your water, especially if using a frog floater with it. It would tell you exactly how much sodium bicarbonate, hardness increased, etc to add. Just opened it for the new season and it’s completely different and useless. Feels like they let ChatGPT rewrite it. It says to add chlorine before balancing? I’ve never heard this in years of owning a pool, and basic research tells me this is wrong. Just for further info, I filled I up the test info and said yes my chlorine was a normal level. Test results come back and say “ok open the frog another click”. Ummmn that is not going to help me when my tap water is 20ppm hardness and I need to add around a pound or so of calcium carbonate? Idk guess this is the death of what was a genuinely helpful app. Def will be looking up my own calculations and won’t be buying frog floaters going forward.

Good But Needs Some Work
Mevlan
I like the app to an extent. Lots of info but not as user friendly as it could be. Hate vertical formats. Unable to set Hot Tub as a default, so it frequently pops up with pages related to my nonexistent pool. Love that we can record our test readings, but the top SmartChlor color swatch we test against (“is your reading lighter or darker than this color?”) is the WRONG COLOR for my Frog test strips - the swatch is green but my test strips are shades of pink. Seems like a big oversight to me. I agree that a section for taking notes would be a huge addition to this app. So all in all I think the app has a ways to go before it’s great.
Requires a login?
Hottomdotcom
Why do I need to create an account to check water in a hot tub? Why can’t we just make a useful app that doesn’t require ANOTHER account, who’s credentials I won’t remember after your data gets breached in 6 months and you force us all to change our passwords? To top it all off, zero password length/complexity requirements. You’re asking for people to set weak passwords and then have their data stolen. Why do you need my address? Again, you’re taking a lot of identifiable information for a hot tub app. And you have zero security in play here, this is a data breach waiting to happen. Be better developers.
