This is one of my favorite word search games. I like that the letters aren’t so small that you need a magnifying glass to see them. The letters are spaced out well enough that you can pretty much see the word that you are looking for at a glance. Not only that, it’s easy enough to highlight the letters you want without hitting the wrong letter because they are crammed together so closely. I’m currently at level 18 and the game lists the level at ‘hard’ but I have yet to come across any level which has posed any difficulty. The game occasionally has a ‘secret’ word which isn’t on the list of words but if you highlight it you get extra points. Again, it isn’t very difficult because you are given the first letter and shown how many letters there are in the word. My only complaint is that as you complete each level you have to sit through a video advertising yet another game. Yawn. 😒 Seriously developers, do you really think your players appreciate ad after ad after ad? So many ads!! I’ve not yet been offered an option to go ad free but since I do enjoy the game if the opportunity comes I will probably go for it…as long as the price is reasonable. I don’t mind paying $15-20 for a game like this but that’s about it. It’s not graphic heavy, it’s not an action game, it’s pretty static so if the developer doesn’t get greedy I’m willing to pay him for the work he put in. Otherwise, onward and upward. If you haven’t tried the game yet I say go for it. It’s a fun time waster.

One of the reasons I play games is to just relax and take my mind off of whatever is going on around me. For that reason relaxation is important and I like the quiet background music that I have a choice to listen to in Wordscapes Search. Another thing I like about it is that we can get extra points by finding words that are not part of the puzzle. I like that I can switch the whole puzzle around in a 1/4 turn, especially that it doesn’t cost me points or “game money.“ The ads are not obnoxious…Yet. And I like that I can earn extra points by watching a video or two. And once in a while they have sales on buying extra things such as blowing some of the letters off the board, which usually cost 100 points. But you can buy like 5x for $1.99 once in a while. That makes it more likely that I will spend a small amount of money. But I am not wealthy and I have only a part-time job so I’m not going spend a lot of money. Some games, not this one, I have quit and deleted simply because they wanted me to spend more money to advance in the game. After that it doesn’t become a game, it’s a gamble and the house always wins. This is not that kind of game. This is a friendly game that meets my needs, let me relax, and I love, LOVE the pictures!

Update 2: Ads are gone! Thank you! I marked the app back up a star in thanks. If we can get rid of the auto-starting a level every time I open the app, this will be back to a 5-star game for me!Update: Whoever decided to make the game automatically open a level every time you open it, PLEASE put it back to how it was and let us just pick where we want to go from the home menu! Every day I go on and want to do the daily puzzle and every day I have to CLOSE the puzzle it has opened and go to the daily puzzle that way. I know these are just minor inconveniences, but they keep adding up and I'm going to wind up being so annoyed that I quit the game. Note that my star rating is going to go down every time I have to update this review with a new annoyance. Original review: I enjoy playing both regular Wordscapes and Wordscapes Search. I usually like Search a bit better. However, they recently redid the app layout. I couldn't understand why all the elements were so far from the top of the screen, I thought it was a glitch. But today I see why. There is a banner ad at the top now, and there's nothing you can do to make it go away. I previously paid for ad-free, which gives you unlimited level plays without video ads in between. I restored purchases just in case that was the issue, but apparently there is no way to get rid of banner ads. Would not mind paying again for ad-free if it got rid of that banner!

This game is awesome! I’ve been playing for months now. It helps with my anxiety and also helps me wind down for bed at night. The only things that bother me are 1. The fact that there is not a dark mode. I play a lot at night and it hurts to look at sometimes because of the bright screen (and yes my screen brightness is down all the way). 2. It feels like there are a looooot of repetitive words and themes. I would love to see some fresh things. I’m at level 3123 but yeah it feels like I see a lot of the same words. 3. The coins. I wish there was more that we could do with the coins. I don’t use the power ups so I’ve just been racking up coins. Maybe we could use them to purchase frames from precious events, avatars, or highlighters. Just a thought. I love that the game has the different events. Butterfly, Atlantis, etc. I’m hoping that some of the other events come back as well ( Because it seems like there are some dormant events. I could be wrong). I also love love love that I can play for highlighters. It makes me even more excited to play the game. You all make them so pretty! Another feature that I enjoy is the fact that you can see the definition for extra words you find in the word search. It’s nice to learn new words. Thanks for this great game! This is the only word search that is really fun to play in my opinion. Also if you play as much as I do, get the no ads option. It’s worth it, I promise!
