The app hears that breath and plays the music with it: the sound swells as you fill up, settles as you let go, and never lands the same way twice, because you never breathe the same way twice. Real music, played by your breath The music is not generated by AI. It is composed and performed by humans including Jeff, the founder and creator of this app. Your inhale and exhale swell sound, stretch it and cross between takes in real time. You are not picking a preset to follow. You are the conductor. The first minute There is no setup screen. The app takes you into a dark room, counts you in, and leads two slow breaths while it learns the sound of yours. That is the whole tutorial, and it is the tuning too. Then you are breathing. What is inside · Just breathe: an open session, no goal and no timer · Sleep: shelves arranged by the hour you are in, from winding down to waking at 3am · Counts and basics: paced patterns for when you want a shape to follow · Body scans, affirmations and guided journeys · More than a hundred sessions, every one of them breath driven How it listens · AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 3 on iOS 26: the earbuds' own microphones hear your breath · Any other headphones, wired or wireless, including earlier AirPods and AirPods Max: the music plays in your ears and the iPhone's microphone listens. I really love the app, and it’s really helped me to calm down when I’m most in need. One thing I would enjoy is if I could use it while laying down, which doesn’t seem to work, but listening to the audio has really helped me to sleep and focus.

Mindful Means hit a home run! I can’t go without my BreathPlayer, especially when it’s me, the kids, and no more wine. Having that soothing voice match my breath as I return to my center beats losing my cool any day of the week. Thanks!
