The ability to easily navigate the app makes my life easier as a manager as well as my maintenance team. Love the tracking and notifications for residents. Jake was thorough in our training and helped everyone feel confident and capable within the app.

We just swapped to AppWork to manage our community's maintenance operations, and it seems to be an absolute game-changer. It streamlines work orders, make-readies, and inspections, bringing everything into one organized platform and has mobile app as well as the website.

Admin Portal
The Admin Portal moved in. You can now open the Admin Portal right inside the Tech App. No more closing one thing to go look at another thing. It's all in one place, where it probably should have been all along.
Work Orders
Copy text straight from a Work Order. Tap, hold, copy. Addresses, notes, part numbers, whatever you need to paste somewhere else. Retyping was never a good use of your time.
Bold text in chat comments is actually bold. Someone emphasized something in a Work Order or Make Ready comment and you'd never know it. Now the emphasis survives the trip.
Category changes announce themselves. When a Work Order category changes, the title animates so you catch it. Small thing. Harder to miss now.
Photos
Pinch to zoom on images. You can zoom in on a photo instead of squinting at a leak and guessing. Squinting was never a feature.
Refrigerant Logs
Refrigerant weights show the real numbers. Logged weights were displaying wrong in the Tech App. They aren't anymore. Your compliance records read the way you entered them.
Bug Fixes
The app scrolls you to what you missed. Skip a required item and the app now takes you straight to it instead of leaving you to hunt for the one field standing between you and done.
"undefined" stopped showing up on the timeline. Adding a schedule slot used to leave a mystery word in the timeline event. It's gone. It never meant anything anyway.
Fixed a crash on the Home screen. It happened. It doesn't now.
Under the Hood
Background errors stay in the background. Network hiccups from background requests were surfacing where they didn't belong. They're handled quietly now, the way background work is supposed to be.
8.32.1 Aug 3
New Features
Start an inspection right from your phone. Techs can now create inspections straight from the Tech App. No waiting on someone at a desk to set it up. See it, start it, done.
Change a Work Order's category on the fly. You can now change the WO Category on any Work Order assigned to you. Miscategorized work happens. Fixing it no longer takes a phone call.
Smart category suggestions when you create a Work Order. Create a Work Order from the app, type in the description of the issue, and AppWork suggests the right WO Category for you. Agree? Keep moving. Want something else? Change it to whatever fits.
Bug Fixes
Long inspection template names behave. A really long template name used to wreck the layout. Now it stays in its lane no matter how wordy it gets.
Uploading the same photo works. Re-uploading the same photo used to run into trouble. Sorted. Upload the same shot as many times as you need.
8.31.3 Jul 29
Scheduled Dates
Your tasks finally come with dates. Work Orders and Make Readies now show their scheduled date, and Inspections show their due date, right where you can see them. No more guessing what's due when.
Sort by what's due next. You can now sort your tasks by scheduled date, so the work coming up soonest sits right at the top of the pile.
The date stays out of your way. Every scheduled task shows its date under the header, and it slides aside as you scroll through the task, so it never crowds the details you're trying to read.
Same-day tasks stand out. Anything scheduled for the same day gets extra highlighting. A packed day is now obvious at a glance.
Under the Hood
Steadier all around. We tightened up stability behind the scenes. Nothing new to tap, just fewer hiccups and a smoother ride.
8.30.2 Jul 22
Photos & Camera
Photos load on the first try. Selecting a photo sometimes did nothing and the library just reopened empty. Now your first tap sticks.
No more flash before the camera. The Work Order detail screen used to flicker for a beat right before the camera opened. That blink is gone.
Comment photos look right. Photos on comments had odd spacing and oversized X icons. Cleaned up.
Comments
Comments keep their real owner. When a Work Order changed hands, a previous tech's comment showed up next to your profile photo. Now every comment keeps the face of whoever actually wrote it.
The comment box stops hiding. On the Work Order detail screen, the comment field could tuck behind the header, and tapping outside wouldn't close it. It sits where you can reach it now, and dismisses when you tap away.
Work Orders & Tasks
New Work Orders show up without a nudge. A Work Order you created in the app didn't reach the Unassigned tab until you pulled to refresh. It shows immediately now.
Removed tasks actually leave. Make Ready and Inspection tasks updated in the Admin Portal used to linger until you pulled to refresh. They clear out on their own now.
Withdrawing a Work Order behaves. Withdrawing from the detail screen didn't remove the Work Order or send you back to the list. Now it does both, right when you withdraw.
Filtering unassigned tasks by property works. It didn't before. It does now.
The Create Work Order screen has a way out. The new Work Order screen had no back button, and the Android hardware back didn't work either. You can back out cleanly now, hardware button included.
Empty tabs refresh. A task tab with nothing in it wouldn't let you pull to refresh, which stung when you knew something should be there. Pull away.
N/A sections open. You couldn't expand an N/A section to see what was inside. Now you can.
Attachments
Admin Portal attachments come through. Some attachment types uploaded from the Admin Portal never appeared in the Tech App on Make Ready tasks. They show up now.
Offline
The offline warning shows itself. The offline modal wasn't appearing over tasks, so you could be working blind after dropping your connection. It shows up now.
Sign-In
Switching users is painless. After signing out, you had to force-close the app before signing in as someone else. You can switch users straight from the sign-in screen now.
Under the Hood
A stray button got back in line. The Clear Filter button overlapped the navigation bar on some devices. Nudged back into place.
8.30.1 Jul 19
Bug Fixes
- Photos and attachments stopped choking. Loading a task packed with photos could push the app past its limit and knock it out. We gave it more room to breathe. Snap away.
- The QR scanner quit fighting the camera. Scanning to log in sometimes ran into a camera that was busy or locked down, and the scanner just froze. It behaves now. Point, scan, in.
- A section that wouldn't dim, now dims. One part of the screen wasn't fading the way it was designed to. Small thing. Fixed anyway, because the details add up.
Under the Hood
- Sync stopped panicking. When the database dropped its connection mid-sync, the app used to crash and take your progress with it. Now it handles the hiccup quietly and holds onto your data. You won't even notice, which is the point.
8.28.1 Jul 16
The App Was Ghosting You. Not Anymore.
Small fix, big difference. The Tech App had a sync problem that's now gone.
Bug Fixes
The app stopped giving you the silent treatment. The Tech App wasn't syncing, which meant updates and newly assigned tasks weren't showing up on your device. You were working blind. Fixed. New assignments and updates now land where they should, when they should.
8.27.1 Jun 29
You'll Know What's Assigned, What's Required, and Where You Are.
A big one. This release adds push notifications, tightens up inspections, clears up the offline experience, and makes finding your property a lot less of a scroll.
Properties
Your Property Filter got a search bar. If you manage more than a handful of properties, you know the scroll. Now you don't have to. Type a name, find your property, move on.
Offline Mode
Offline Mode finally tells you what's going on. We updated the UI and copy so it's actually clear what you can and can't do when you lose connection. Spoiler: keep working. When you're back online and the Tech App is open, everything you did offline syncs automatically. No babysitting required.
Work Orders
Work Orders assigned to you now come with a knock. New push notifications hit your device the moment a Work Order is assigned to you. No more finding out three hours later when you happen to open the app.
Inspections
Inspection items can now hold the line on Action Required. Selector-type items in custom inspections can now be set as Action Required. If something's missing, the app will flag it before you submit. No sneaking past.
Dropdowns and Date inputs joined the Action Required club. Same rules apply. Mark a Dropdown or Date input as Action Required and the app will catch it if a tech tries to move on without filling it in. Inspections that mean something now act like it.
8.26.1 Jun 22
Inspections & Work Orders Get Smarter
Smarter inspection items. Now you can mark what's not applicable without forcing unnecessary answers. Your reports stay accurate and clean. Technicians complete them faster without skipping important details.
Textboxes that grow with you. Notes and descriptions expand as you type. Write a paragraph, write three. The field grows with you instead of choking your words into a cramped box. Long notes finally feel like a feature, not a workaround.
8.25.1 Jun 16
Bug Fixes
Your tasks are back. Every single one of them disappeared completely. We know that was bad. They're all completely restored now with your progress intact.
You're staying logged in. Techs were getting force logged out with zero warning. That's over. You'll stay logged in until you actually log yourself out.
Photos and notes upload again. Your photos and notes were getting stuck mid-upload, and the app was kicking you out in the process. Both problems are gone. Snap, write, upload. Done.
Taking photos got simpler. The app was asking for unnecessary permissions just to take a photo. Now it only asks for what it actually needs.
8.24.4 Jun 9
We Fixed the Front Door
Small release, big relief. Most of this one is about getting into the app and actually staying in. If you've been fighting the login screen lately, this is for you.
Logging In & Loading
Scan-and-bounce is over. Scanning your login code used to scan you right back to the login page. You'd scan, it'd think about it, then drop you exactly where you started. Now the scan logs you in and keeps you there.
The app finally tells you what went wrong. When your login token went missing, the app just sat there, quiet and unhelpful. Now it says what actually happened instead of leaving you to guess.
Okta logins stopped freezing. Log out, log back in with Okta, and the app used to lock up on the loading screen like it forgot what it was doing. It remembers now.
Stuck loader, unstuck. A forced logout or a scrambled local database could leave you staring at a spinner with no way out. We taught the app to recover instead of giving up.
Work Orders
You can reach the bottom of the list now. On mobile, the Work Orders list quietly stopped letting you scroll all the way down. Long list? The ones at the bottom may as well not have existed. They exist now, and you can get to them.
8.24.1 Jun 7
Bug Fixes
Your photos stop ghosting you. You'd finish an inspection or a Work Order, snap your photos, and the app would quietly lose them. No error. No warning. Just gone. We caught the ghost. Photos now save and upload the way they should, on inspections and Work Orders alike.
Your notes stay put too. Completion notes on Work Orders had the same vanishing habit. They don't anymore. What you write is what sticks.

8.3.3 Mar 4
You can now mark individual inputs as N/A or declare a whole section N/A when it simply does not apply to your life (or inspection). You can also collapse inspection sections, because scrolling builds character but we decided you have enough of that already. Even better, the property selector now sticks. Close the app, reopen it, your property is still there. Loyalty at its finest.
We also tuned up inspection performance so selecting statuses feels faster and more responsive. Tap it, it selects, no dramatic pause. And of course, we cleaned up a handful of bugs and UI quirks along the way. They will not be missed.
8.3.2 Feb 23
This update brings a few of the “coming soon” features we’ve been teasing for the last few weeks. Technicians can now use three new custom inspection inputs, Custom Dropdown, Date, and Monetary, right in the app. We also added support for signing in with Okta and Apple SSO, because typing passwords all day shouldn’t be part of anyone’s maintenance workflow. Now technicians can log their refrigerant usage from the app too!
