I love Emily. I have owned every Emily game since the very first. It bums me out not to be able to play those old games anymore! But anyway - this game. Every Emily game is great... some are just... more great than others. This one has a good story (I love the callbacks to Emily’s Taste of Fame and Emily’s Tea Garden), there is, as usual, both heart and comedy, fun characters, great art, fine music, and bug-free gameplay. However, one thing the Delicious games have always excelled at is a little shaky in this game: the difficulty. It was really inconsistent in this one. Some chapters were far too easy, some decently paced, but some were frustrating due to the lack of upgrades for the kitchens. The chapter at Rose’s bar, for example, gives you 6-top tables, and only the ability to make one extremely slow cooking piece of chicken at a time, even though some tables will order 3 or 4 of them. Even a perfect player simply can’t make them fast enough and it gets less challenging than simply frantic and irritating. My other gripe with this installment is that some items are requested way more than others... to the point of being exceedingly boring. I usually find Emily games replayable, but at the diner, 80% or more of the customers order the exact same thing, and I can’t play that chapter again; if I have to make one more tray of nothing but waffles I will smash something!! If they would fix those two issues, I would upgrade my rating, but as it stands now I can only call it an average addition to the series.
Thank you for your feedback and also be being a loyal fan! <3 We'll pass your feedback along to the developers and they will take it into consideration when making more games. Kind Regards, GameHouse
