I did the seven-day free trial – there’s big sliders for ad blocking enabled – privacy blocking enabled – social blocking enabled– that’s fine and good, but then there’s another button that tells you you have to go in and alter your settings in order for any of the sliders to work. All the sliders appear to be large and in charge, but they are useless. If you don’t go in and adjust your settings. If you are kind enough to add to the database of spam phone numbers, you literally have to type each one in individually, which made me Realise I’m relying on data that someone took the time to type in individually? I have multiple programs that block things for this to work. you have to share your contacts, which said it doesn’t share them – but you have to ask it not to track you. – Main issue was it recommends another app called SCUBI, which could easily just be it recommends apps as an ad, but I investigated that app and if it’s any indication of moral compass that this company is not great. I truly believe, if you’re willing to advertise and suggest and promote apps or behaviour that clearly takes advantage of people then you’re willing to do it. This is my official review
Thank you for the detailed feedback. Apple requires blocking apps to be turned on in iPhone Settings before they can work, and we’ve improved our instructions to make that step clearer. We don’t show third-party ads. Scrubl is our own service: it removes your personal data from data brokers, which cuts down how many spammers can find your number in the first place. If you have questions, please email support@robotcallblocker.app.
