Homemanager 5 is here! ++ Rebuilt from the ground up, both technically and conceptually. Optimized for a more modern and faster mobile experience.
Homemanager makes Homebridge and HOOBS simpler, more modern, and more mobile.
Manage your Homebridge or HOOBS systems directly from your iPhone or iPad, with guided flows, an intuitive interface, and powerful tools for setup, integrations, configuration, and maintenance.
For many Apple Home users, Homebridge is the easiest way to bring devices and services into Apple Home that would otherwise not be available there. Homemanager helps you get started with Homebridge step by step and set up your system.
Why Homemanager?
Since 2018, we have been developing Homemanager with the goal of making Homebridge and HOOBS management more accessible, more reliable, and better suited for everyday use. The app supports you from the initial setup all the way to ongoing system management. Whether you are looking for integrations, editing configurations, managing bridges, reviewing logs, or installing updates, everything is designed for a clear and mobile friendly experience.
For you in the app:
- Integration Store: Discover integrations, filter them, and understand them more easily
- Interactive Configuration: Comprehensive support for established community configuration standards, optimized for mobile use
- System Updates: Update Node and Homebridge directly in the app
- Temporary Changes: Prepare changes, review them, and apply them later when you are ready
- Logs and Terminal: Review logs and work directly on your server
- System Dashboard: Performance, updates, and status information at a glance
For advanced setups:
- Hybrid Editor: Edit JSON in a structured, visual way with search
- SmartDetect 2: Easily adopt example configurations and continue configuring them graphically
- Multi Server: Manage multiple servers centrally
- Pairing and Cache Management
Who is Homemanager for?
For anyone who wants to use Homebridge or HOOBS not just somehow, but manage it reliably and comfortably, from getting started to more advanced setups.
I really enjoy using this app, allowing me to quickly manage my HOOBS server from my iPhone or iPad without having to use the web. The interface makes it user friendly. I have one suggestion though - when you are managing devices, and make changes, there should be a save or upload button on that screen. Instead you have to click the ‘back’ button, tap the three dots and tap ‘upload’. This was the only counterintuitive thing I encountered. Otherwise, a must have!Edit - thanks for taking the time to respond! Happy to hear you guys are making improvements! Looking forward to receiving updates

Hi,thanks a lot for your review. In our next major release - Homemanager 3 - we have a new optimized configuration page with many new features and a lot of improvements. One of the improvements is an always persistent and directly accessible Upload button ;) The update will be available later this year. Brilliant App!

This app is a “smart home” game changer. My family really likes Apple. I’d looked into HomeKit but felt the supported devices were limited, expensive and sometimes just not the best choices. I like having IoT devices and had everything already set up in SmartThings, Alexa and Google Home. I just felt like we were too far down the path to switch over to Apple Home.I’d read about Homebridge, but it was a little deeper into the smart home pool than I was ready to dive at that point. Then I came across the HOOBS subreddit from the Homebridge subreddit I’d been on reading and eventually found Homemanager. WOW. In my opinion the Homemanager app and HOOBS make adding unsupported HomeKit devices on par with adding devices in Alexa or Google Home. Especially with the Import Config feature in Homemanager. The app is so well designed and makes updating the configuration file for Homebridge really easy. You don’t have to worry about syntax with brackets and commas. It imports the sample config into a GUI form for you to simply enter parameters. Trust me, if I can do this, anyone can do it. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but felt compelled to add one for Homemanager. It’s my favorite app by far!

Hi,thanks a lot for writing a review. It is great to hear that you like our app and especially our simple Config import feature and generic visual editor. We have a lot new things planed for summer 2020. Stay tuned. Cheers,Ron
Please add HOOBS Pro icon!

This app has been great for managing my HOOBS Pro device! I would like to see some UI tweaks (it can get a bit confusing tabbing between plugins, bridges, and the main interface as they are all extremely alike) - perhaps a cleaner navigation or breadcrumb feature would be helpful. Also, I still don’t see the HOOBS Pro icon as an option for the server, only the outdated HOOBS Box. Please add the HOOBS Pro icon so it can accurately reflect my device! (I’m a bit OCD about this stuff haha). Can’t wait to see what HomeManager 5 is like - is there a Beta I can participate in on TestFlight? If so, please let me sign up, I do beta testing for a number of apps (I work as DevOps for a tech startup).Keep up the great work!
What happened

Used to be a good app now it has a worst UI which list 97% off my devices as unknown and in order to use this worst interface they want me to buy a new pro license because the one I bought for the version of the app I liked won’t count for this update I did not ask for. That’s fine I’ll just make my own or find another, way to disgruntle long-term loyal users. Should have made it a separate "updated v5" app or at least left the pro licenses alone. They responded saying I could restore the license but that’s what I have done they call it legacy and expect another $3 for an upgrade to use a worst app I didn’t ask to change which I already paid for a lifetime one-time license to. The wording they use doesn’t even make sense. In order to continue providing “one-time” licenses they need all existing “one-time” licenses to pay an upgrade fee lol. You’re not offering a one-time license in either of those cases.Responded again with the same none-sense saying the cost is for maintaining support when none of the complaints about changes I have involve work to maintain the basic homebridge plugin management and dashboard functionality. I have made several plugins and my local instance is deployed from a self hosted gitea instance that forks and rebases updates from the official with my own changes applied on top so trust me when I say that’s a load of manure to justify it, but all my complaints pertain to app features and changes; not requested by, but forced upon customers who didn’t ask for them with a fresh price while killing the existing lifetime app we actually paid for. Review stands, so does my opinion and nothing will change that aside from retaining the original app as a legacy app and making this a new separate version like proper developers would. Once more people update their apps I’m sure you’ll see more reviews like this popping up. If I could leave 0 or less stars I would.

Updated Response:The update fee to v5 licenses is entirely optional. If you don’t want to use features of v5, your previous lifetime license remains valid for all features you previously purchased for. So yes, it is a one time lifetime purchase. As a long time customer you might notice how much is going on in the Homebridge community and that there are many technical changes from year to year. The small optional update fee helps us to maintain the app further, adapt to new changes and develop new features. If you have further questions regarding the licenses or want to share more details about your criticism, please contact us. We are open to discuss it further.Original Response:Hi,we are sorry that you are not happy with the update. Please try to restore your previous license, go to the license page, top right menu, restore license. Sometimes the license get not restored automatically. All your previously bought features remain available without any additional cost. Only new features of v5 that haven’t been there and took more time to develop, will be available after a small update fee for around 2-3 dollars (depending on the country you live in)Regarding your bugs / criticism about the UI, we would love to hear more from you by email (support@homemanager-app.de). This is the only way we can try to solve your issues / fix the bugs and try to improve the user experience for you.Best Regards,Hannes/Ron
