I think this is a unique aap improving greatly the ease and use of discovering and choosing words from the Thesaurus. In my situation, since I have a fair amount of aaps on my phone, I found looking for the WordMap aap was difficult because the word "Thesaurus" was not in the title description. If it was an aap I used more frequently it'd be no problem, but in my case I access it only now & then. This is not a reflection on the quality of the aap, but more about the user (me). :)

Wordmap should certainly be useful to those who choose to download it. The developer must be congratulated on his skill.But purchasers should be aware that it is obviously a blatant copy of Wordflex Touch Dictionary which has been around for six years. There's a free version to try that's limited not in scope, but by the number of words you can check in a day, and a paid upgrade to the full version. Wordflex has the advantage of a much larger database of words based on three Oxford University Press publications: the Oxford Dictionary of English, the foremost single-volume dictionary of the language with 355,000 words and phrases, the New Oxford American Dictionary, which is comparable in extent, and the Oxford Thesaurus of English. (It also has some special features not duplicated by this app.) I have used Wordflex for five years in my work as a writer and editor. I highly recommend it to serious students of, and workers with, the English language.

You may not know you need this app. The concept behind it is simple, the interface is simple, the results are almost always exactly what i need. I use it almost every day. There are some curveballs you can throw it, like a word where a pinwheel of identical words is two nodes away from what you typed, but it’s rare.

It would be great to have users be able to add words, since some of the groupings aren’t comprehensive. Also, in more populated groupings, it’s hard to isolate and expand individual word nodes to read them. They all get crushed together. I wish there was a way to select one node to float a bit apart from the others, or otherwise separate them while keeping the remaining group contents on the screen.
