I really enjoy the different elements of this app. The community is incredibly interactive, it reminds me of plant Facebook and Pinterest all wrapped into one. When I want inspiration for my own garden or indoor plant space, I love to scroll through the community part. It’s also interesting to see how people all over the world are styling and doing with their plants. It’s also very busy, and not desolate like some community parts of apps I have seen. People are constantly posting pictures which I love! Another element I really like is the journal section. I’m someone who is usually not the best with plants, and I love how I can make entries and get suggestions at the same time. You can also add photos, and it has reminders of when you last watered your plants. You can add pictures in the snap section so you can compare current pictures of plants or compare to other plants you have owned. My favorite app section is the explore maps part! I love to see what people in my area are posting! It reminds me of geocaching for plants! If you are a plants and flower enthusiast it’s a really fun element to the app! I have personally used the camera function for many plants in my front and backyard. A lot of our bushes and flowers were planted when we bought my childhood home. So it’s really cool to find out what they actually are after all this time. This app is very well done, and consistently involving! I’m a huge fan and excited to try the AI flora part out now!
PlantSnap App Review

PlantSnap is a fantastic tool for nature lovers, plant enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the world around them. The app uses AI-powered image recognition to identify plants, trees, flowers, and even fungi by snapping a photo. Here’s what makes it great: Pros: 1.Easy to Use: Simply take a photo, and within seconds, PlantSnap provides an identification along with relevant details. The interface is intuitive, even for beginners. 2.Detailed Information: The app provides species names, care tips, and interesting facts about the plants you identify, which is helpful for learning more. 3.Global Database: It boasts a vast plant database with thousands of species worldwide, making it useful no matter where you are. 4.Educational Features: Great for plant care tips and learning more about biodiversity. Cons: 1.Accuracy Variability: Although generally accurate, there are times when it misidentifies plants, especially with similar-looking species. This can be frustrating for those seeking precise information. 2.Free vs. Paid Features: Some of the advanced features are only available in the paid version, which might be a drawback for casual users. 3.Battery Drain: Like many apps that use image recognition, PlantSnap can be a bit demanding on battery life. Overall: PlantSnap is an enjoyable, informative app for exploring the natural world. While it has a few limitations, its ease of use and educational value make it worth a try, especially for plant lovers or anyone wanting to learn more about the plants around them.
Long Review - Apologize In Advance! Basically, It’s A Great Tool

So I was actually worried because my test was around sunset at 5pm, and i was concerned about the ability of the tool to identify an app without good natural light being present. I also realized this was a test - that it passed with flying colors. Out of 4 obscure plants I found on a quick walk, it got 3 correct with little light to go on. I’m super impressed actually going to keep this app! It’s easier for me than Google Lens which has been way off in results i’ve gotten on plants in my experience. On one plant, which looked like a large aloe vera i got the result of a plant with a completely different color. The first time I figured it was because of the light, however when I used flash and got a clear image of the green plant, it showed the same result. The third plant it got the plant correct, however on the second guess. The third plant was a dark violet plant, however the app suggested it was a green plant with a different plant composition altogether. The fourth plant was very interesting as they had distinctive leaf patterns but the flowers were no longer on the plant. The app was able to successfully identify this one - i was shocked. Overall, I’m astonished by this app as in my experience these tools are very hit and miss. I would say the only way this tool could perform better is it were to color match before identifying, as it was accurate 3/4 times (it said i had used all 5 snaps but it was 4). I believe if i tested 10 plants it’d be closer to 9/10 than a 3/4 test indicates. Very very cool app.

As a notorious Fern Felon turned Blossom Benefactor, I can’t believe I’m writing this, but this app has transformed my botanical bloodbath into a garden of Eden! Once infamous for turning lush green cycad dreams into dried-up nightmares, I’ve finally found my green thumb thanks to this incredibly easy-to-use plant care and identification app. From the get-go, the app holds your hand (gently, like you should hold a delicate orchid) and guides you through the world of plant care. No more guessing whether your ficus is frowning or if your peace lily is pouting. The app’s plant identification feature is like having a horticultural detective in your pocket, solving plant mysteries faster than I used to wilt a succulent! The real magic, though, is in the care instructions. Detailed, yet simple enough for even the most notorious plant neglecter (yours truly) to follow, it’s like having a patient plant nanny coaching you step-by-step. Watering schedules, sunlight needs, and even tips on how to talk to your plants (yes, apparently they like it) are all laid out with the precision of a seasoned gardener. I’ve gone from a serial killer of succulents to a magnolia mommy, nurturing a verdant oasis right in my living room. So, if you’ve ever been a perpetrator of planticide, do yourself a favor and download this app. You might just become the green-thumbed guardian you never knew you could be.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
